YARNAHOY

Friday, October 28, 2011. Shawl, sweater and a topi! Since I've been MIA is such a bad way, I thought I'd do a big a$S post today. The red lace shawl was knitted by my friend in Portland who knits lace so fast, her fingers make a buzzing sound. I believe she used the Rock Island. Pattern. She used a silk wool lace blend that I had hand dyed. In case you're wondering, yes, this yarn went to the US and then came back to the UK as a shawl. Some yarns have all the luck. sacred pathways: April 2010

http://sacredpathways.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, April 07, 2010. Even more exciting is that I'm creating a new studio. My needlework, knitting, crocheting, beading and scrapbook projects are all over the house! How did this craziness begin the week before Easter? The most holy and busy time (especially if you are on a church staff as I am). I've been dreaming of a wall hanging for my office. The scene is one of my most favorite spots in Burkes Garden, VA. Has been inspirational and affirming. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Seasons in the Mist.

sacred pathways: Disappearing Nine Patch

http://sacredpathways.blogspot.com/2011/09/disappearing-nine-patch.html

Saturday, September 10, 2011. A photo by 110901cats. Judy @ Patchwork Times. Has inspired me to make a Disappearing Nine Patch. Here are my first few blocks. As a new quilter, this quilt is going to challenge and stretch me to sew and cut precisely. I've got to get in the habit of sewing a scant 1/4". Tomorrow I will check my machine again for the 1/4" line. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Fat Quarter Stars Quilt Along. View my complete profile. Make your own badge here. Seasons in the Mist.

sacred pathways: June 2010

http://sacredpathways.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Saturday, June 12, 2010. Lately my fingers have had a needle in them pulling thread. Almost daily I have been sewing, quilting, stitching and always dreaming of the next project. The above needle felting landscape was created during workshop with Margo Duke. When she was at Quilting Adventures. In May. What a wonderful time and Margo is a gifted spirit. The women in the class were amazing - each creation filled my soul. I have also begun to embroidery again. For 20 years cross-stitch was my. Also while g...

Yarnaholics Not So Anonymous

Yarnaholics Not So Anonymous. Saturday, 16 April 2011. I did buy some yarn myself in a little shop that sells mill ends by weight, here I spent £14.50 on various unbrannded yarn. I £2.50 worth of this was for my mother so £12.00 of my budget has gone. I have also just paid for the KnitPicks I have been waiting for since before the challenge stated with postage this was £19. So £51.26 minus £31.00 leaves 20.26. Saturday, 26 February 2011. The first to be finished was a hat. Next was a hat. I wonder how I ...

Monday, August 12, 2013. Well, it is August 2013. Well over a year since I last posted. Things have changed a bit. I'm done with the MLIS program. I expect sometime at the end of of August to receive a diploma in the mail that says I am the proud owner of a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science - or in other words, I will officially be a librarian! I miss Alpena a lot lately. I wonder what my life would be like if we had stayed? Would I still have earned my MLIS? I'm excited to get back to s...

Went to my second favorite place - Office Max! It's like an adult candy store. I really only needed to pick up some banker boxes to file tax papers but ended up leaving with about 5 packs of pens.
