YarnsAndHow
Welcome to YarnsAndHow.com brought to you by Sherry Mulne. Spring is around the bend, and life continues to bring new and exciting opportunities. As they say, the only thing in this world that is a constant is “change.” However, I can’t say that’s been true of my website! As an independent, micro-business, my time is spent more on the needs of my clients than on my own marketing needs. I’m sure many of you know exactly what I mean. With a background in marketing and design, twenty-fives years of operatin...

So what have I been doing? While going through...

Monday, March 9, 2015. Hand Painting Yarn with Arrowroot Powder Thickened Acid Dye. I had seen this wonderful tutorial. When searching for worsted weight rainbow yarn, and considered trying, but didn't want to buy guar gum OR have the colors bleed. I tried to think what would work that I already have, and I had arrowroot powder. It ended up working great, so I'll share what I did. I poured or scooped it into paper cups. I mixed in the food coloring drops and blended until I liked the colors. Labels: hand...

Yarns and Tall Tales. A Collection of Anecdotes, Occasionally Embellished for Dramatic Purposes. Thursday, March 27, 2008. So I slowed down. And he slowed down. So I sped up. And he sped up. So I pointed my pepper spray at him, gave him my most withering glare, and said: You’ll forgive me if I’m a little skittish at night. And he said: I can understand that. He waited a few beats more, continuing to leer. I’m just heading home. Good Good for you. You do that. Posted by Renée @ 1:19 PM. One morning, after...
