Some things I see. This is a blog mostly about my trip to St Petersburg to attend a Russian language course. Learning Russian was a hobby of mine in the 80’s. I learned quite a lot of grammar, some vocabulary, but hardly any fluency in speaking. I will be very happy if at the end of the course I can go into shops and ask for any buy things in Russian, without reverting to English. If you would like to leave a comment:. St John’s church. January 14, 2017. Before the performance I was looking for an ATM to get cash and stumbled across St John’s Estonian Lutheran Church. Apparently it was used by the Soviets as offices. When communism fell, the Estonian community, and probably also the Estonian government, rebuilt it in 1995. By the look of the pictures at the entrance it was a huge project. January 14, 2017. It was a wonderful experience to see Nutcracker last night, in the theatre where it was first performed in 1892.
