Sara's Sojourns: August 2012
http://saras-sojourns.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
August 23, 2012. In other news, the 2012 Moot (the annual gathering of CleanPlacers) went off with nary a hitch. It was a lovely time. We were back at Bear Trap Ranch (which is truly home) and we had a great group. And to update you on my weight loss progress, I'm at 15.5 pounds lost! And that was being "off plan" for the entire Moot! And now I'm going to go stare at the dryer until it finishes my last load, so I can put the few items I still need into my bag, throw it in the car, and then I can sleep!

Sara's Sojourns: September 2012
http://saras-sojourns.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
September 16, 2012. Gone, gone away. I would just like to say that as of this morning, 20 pounds have been evicted from my body! They are gone, and they will not be returning. September 8, 2012. Let me count the ways. That I love my two-yard. So, what is a two-yard? Well, it's two-yards (give or take, depending on your size) of fabric. Why do I love it so much? Then, one cold weekend when Dara and Sarah P and I were up at my dad's to go to the shooting range, we found another use for it- a scarf! I also ...

Sara's Sojourns: December 2011
http://saras-sojourns.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
December 17, 2011. My friend, Jake. The coolest 14 year old I know. December 15, 2011. In the nick of time. Time for another honest report on my life. As you know, I hit bottom, or a bottom (I'm sure I could go lower, but it was a low point either way). And faithwise. Then I figured it couldn't hurt to respond. So I answered all his questions, sent him a note saying I hadn't received it before Saturday, but that I would still like to be considered if possible. December 10, 2011. December 5, 2011. The rat...

Sara's Sojourns: zee zee--don't fall asleep just yet!
http://saras-sojourns.blogspot.com/2013/05/zee-zee-dont-fall-asleep-just-yet.html
May 17, 2013. Zee zee- don't fall asleep just yet! We've done it- we have reached the final letter in the alphabet. This one was hard, but I managed to find a favorite story that fits the bill nicely. Oh come on. Do you blame me for picking it? Plus, I am rather smitten with Antonio Banderas. It's a rags to riches story, and a redemption story, and a justice story, and a hero story. And did I mention Banderas? So check out The Mask of Zorro and The Legend of Zorro so you can see what I'm talking about.

Sara's Sojourns: April 2013
http://saras-sojourns.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
April 30, 2013. We've made it to the middle vowel, perhaps the easiest letter to write, and one we use all the time (since we talk about ourselves constantly, right? I give you I! I Never Promised You a Rose Garden. We get to see both how the institution works (or doesn't) as well as Deborah's struggles with her illness (schizophrenia) and learning that when it comes down to it, she is the only one who can decide to be healthy or "ill". I've read this one at least five times since discovering it in early...

Sara's Sojourns: January 2013
http://saras-sojourns.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
January 5, 2013. It's a new year. Welcome! I have to say, never have I been so eager to leave a year behind. But 2012 was a doozie, and I was more than happy to see it go. I have to say, the best thing that came out of it was a movie and some renewed friendships. Let's talk about the movie, because it really highlights a lot that is going on in my life right now. And if that isn't beautiful, I don't know what is. And that's part of what I am longing for. So yes, I love this movie. Not just because it...

Sara's Sojourns: July 2013
http://saras-sojourns.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
July 29, 2013. Remember back in January when I talked about The Hobbit and how I felt like I was getting ready for an adventure? Well, my adventure showed up, and what a ride it has been. Well, things moved, albeit slowly, and I interviewed in May. I had prayed a lot about it and thought this would be the perfect fit for me, but I was also in that strange place of peace, no matter if I got it or not. And I didn't get it. Talk about culture shock. And I'm loving it. So next weekend, we are having a Choke ...

Sara's Sojourns: December 2012
http://saras-sojourns.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
December 11, 2012. Confessions of a recovering scrooge. I used to like Christmas. I used to love Christmas. As a child, I never slept much on Christmas Eve. I'd sneak up to the living room after the family had gone to bed, and I would sit in front of the tree (which we left the lights on all night, just that night), and sing all about that baby in a manager. Christmas was magical, and filled with fun times, special visits, and of course, presents. And then, the magic was shattered. With the retail world ...
