I never gave much thought to how Halloween promotes local eating, however I have come to realize that most holidays are bound by tradition and reflect back to how our ancestors were living and taking advantage of seasonal foods in celebration. Halloween is a celebration of autumn. Candied apples, dried Indian corn, crafts made of autumn-coloured leaves, and PUMPKINS! Step One: Find a Pumpkin.
