http://freedom-29.blogspot.com/2010/09/machu-picchu-and-inca-trail.html
Thursday, September 16, 2010. Machu Picchu and the Inca Trail. Our trek to Machu Picchu is finished and, to borrow a famous mountaineering phrase, " we knocked the bastard off! Now, I'm not necessarily sugggesting that our hike along the Inca Trail is on par with Sir Edmund's feat, but I think it's fair to point out that we accomplished our goal without resorting to the use of supplemental oxygen. As always, my Inca Trail experience by the numbers. Number of times I thought I was going to die: 1 - the fi...

Wednesday, September 1, 2010. Cruzing for a Bruising. Editor's note: Judging by the unprecedented number of comments and page views generated by Kristin's last post, I trust that you will all be disappointed to learn that is again I, Kevin, who is back at the controls. I'm not jealous. Let's move on.]. A couple of lists to finish us off:. Lessons Learned/Reinforced on the Trek. Freedom29: Falling for Floripa
http://freedom-29.blogspot.com/2010/10/falling-for-floripa.html
Friday, October 29, 2010. Sorry for the long lag between posts. We've been. well . not busy. Butummm. oh wow, this is getting awkward. Let's just pick up from the where we left off, post 23-hour bus ride. Good? Well, I love waterfalls, so I would have been school-girl giddy with whatever we happened to find there. Kristin, on the other hand, doesn't particularly care for waterfalls. Editor's note: honestly, who doesn't like waterfalls? Told me she had been unimpressed by Niagara Falls. Either Iguazu Fall...

Freedom29: He Said, She Said
http://freedom-29.blogspot.com/2010/11/he-said-she-said.html
Saturday, November 20, 2010. He Said, She Said. In a decision that has been very difficult to make, I'm sad to announce that our trip is coming to an end in five days. Kristin's foot is still giving her a lot of trouble and has made it so that we can't travel in the way that we are accustomed to and enjoy. Our hope is that the frigid weather and limited sunshine of December in Calgary will allow it to heal properly. Editor's note: Deep breaths, Kevin. Deep breaths.]. Asking me to choose the favourite pla...

Freedom29: The Lost City
http://freedom-29.blogspot.com/2010/08/lost-city.html
Thursday, August 12, 2010. Perhaps with time and perspective I will be to figure it out for myself, but the trek was likely one of two things:. A shining example of the indomitable spirit of humankind, willing itself to overcome the elements to gain further knowledge in respect of a fascinating cultural legacy, culminating in a visit to a priceless archaeological site; or. My Ciudad Perdida experience by the numbers:. Red jungle wasp stings: 1. Mystery jungle face rashes: 1. Louis Vuitton Modelling Offer...

Freedom29: There Can Only Be One
http://freedom-29.blogspot.com/2010/10/there-can-only-be-one.html
Tuesday, October 19, 2010. There Can Only Be One. Aside #1: The only thing which detracted from my Salta experience was the bit I read in one of the guidebooks before arriving which said that travellers should really try to get invited to an asado (an Argentinian private barbecue, where copious amounts of fire-roasted beef and wine are typically served). What does that mean . try to get invited? Our pictures from Salta and the surrounding area are here. October 27, 2010 at 5:31 PM. I really like it.
