Our Growing Family: November 2013
http://koopolsta.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 24, 2013. 4 months and counting. Alex had his 4 month checkup this past Monday. He continues to do well. He's now 26.5" long (95%ile) and 15 lbs, 5 oz (50%ile). He's long and skinny - just like his Mama, right? Clayton continues to enjoy taking photos. His "selflies" are quite hilarious. I like this one of Alex and me. No - Alex doesn't have a comb-over do.although it kind of gives you an idea of what he may look like in a couple of decades. And here's our 18-week old. Links to this post.

Our Growing Family: March 2014
http://koopolsta.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 27, 2014. We had another busy week in the Olsta household. We started the week with a Mother-son trip to the salon to finally get Clayton a decent hair cut. He thought it was pretty cool to get his hair cut by the same person who cuts mine. We did our weekly trip to Cafe Hollander afterwards. As we were preparing to head home, Clayton headed up to the bar just to say "hi! It may be a sign that we go there a little too often? On Sunday, Nana and Papa stopped by on their way down to Chicago.

Our Growing Family: September 2014
http://koopolsta.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 2, 2014. My blogging has been lacking of late. Apparently I made it to the 52 week for Alex - and then slacked off! But, just because I haven't been posting anything doesn't mean that fun stuff hasn't been happening. The month of August brought lots of brotherly fun. The boys enjoying after school snacks in the backyard together. And playing in the sandbox. We ventured down to the beach on several occasions. Ryan and Clayton attempted kite flying. While Alex and I observed. And here is...

Monday, July 28, 2014. Alex's One Year Old Stats. Well, Alex and I had another visit to the pediatrician today - fortunately no symptoms were present (phew). Unfortunately (for Alex) he still had 4 doses of medicine/shots. He was not a happy boy. He's done a great job growing this year. Birth stats: 6 lbs, 11 oz (15th %ile); 19 inches long (15th %ile). 1 year old stats: 22 lbs, 2 oz (64th %ile); 31 inches long (95th %ile). Our Growing Family: August 2013
http://koopolsta.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 26, 2013. He's a Mover and a Shaker. Alex is 5 weeks old. He continues to grow like a weed - by my estimate using our home scale he is now about 10 lbs. The newborn clothing is snug and he's starting to fill out the 0-3 clothes. He continues to be a "muscle man" as one colleague called him. He really only is still while sleeping, and even then he's not silent! At least he's super cute. He quickly began using his legs to push up. And over the top! The shirt really says it all! I know, I kno...

Prairie Life, post-seminary: Farewell post...
http://mennonite-seminarian.blogspot.com/2012/11/farewell-post.html
Prairie Life, post-seminary. Sunday, November 18, 2012. I began work as an office administrator with Mediation Services in mid-February. I enjoy the culture in which I work and I can't brag enough about the great people that I get to work with! Thank goodness for the admin work I did on campus during my time at seminary that I could include on my resume. All I can offer is what I have to offer and there is freedom in practicing that (check out www.aliciabuhler.com. As you've probably gathered from my blo...

Our Growing Family: July 2013
http://koopolsta.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 27, 2013. We've had a wonderful first week at home. It was such a change to be able to leave the hospital on day 2 and get back into our own beds. Clayton welcomed his little brother with open arms and excitedly asks to hold him each day. He talks about his "little brudder" all of the time. Clayton has also helped Alex learn how to play with his toys. But then quickly picked up his head and. Decided to look the other way. This is just a sweet photo of this precious little boy. He decided t...

Prairie Life, post-seminary. Saturday, October 27, 2012. Little cabin in the woods. Retreat Week 2012 - Carrie and I spent 5 nights in this little cabin during my vacation in mid-October. No one to see, nowhere to go - I actually went 2 whole days without looking at a clock! We rented the mini-loge at Camp Moose Lake near Sprague, MB - a Camps With Meaning facility of Mennonite Church Manitoba. We had the entire place to ourselves and it was great! Naps in front of the fire on the rainy days. We brought ...

Prairie Life, post-seminary. Monday, September 3, 2012. Wrapping up summer 2012. The September long-weekend signals to many the end of summer and beginning of school. It occurred to me recently that this fall is the first time since 1989 that I haven't been heading back to class - feels a little strange! But before we hurry into fall here are a few random highlights from August. My little brother is married! Pearl and Andrew Buhler - August 11, 2012. The gift of a beautiful orchid from friends. Rachel He...
