Every time I step onto (and off of) my mat, I am reminded that yoga is powerful. It reaches out to touch not only the yogi, but also the friends and family that surround that person each day. Yoga gives us the strength to face challenges with new eyes, to let the small things go, and most importantly it gives us the time to connect with ourselves. This precious connection that is formed between our mind, body, and breath is irreplaceable in every way and so. Always Trying to Open. Viktor E. Frankl.

My approach to yoga, as a teacher, is that of healing, of helping to strengthen the body, to calm the mind, to open the heart, and to stimulate all of the energy vortexes (chakras) so that my student is a balanced, united force moving through this life. We all have periods of imbalance, of course, and there are also karmic elements to our physical situations, as well. It is simply my great wish to help us through them. As well as privates or mini-classes in my home or yours. Maura brigid nolan, ryt.

November 2, 2016. Leave a comment on Stepping Back. I know it’s always been there, this space and place. You have to keep meeting it over and over and over again until it becomes a believable thing. You have to work to wake it up, to activate it; to grow into it. For we are not always taught that there’s a place underneath. How does this happen? Yoga And how does attempting to be pretzely bring on these kind of flashes of the good life? To get deeper inside, we start from the outside. And that feels righ...

Hatha Yoga is the Yoga which I practice and teach, with the focus of my teaching being a combination of cultivation of physical health, using movement and breath to build warmth in the body, and awareness of the divinity within each and every one of us so that we can open ourselves to greater flexibility in all areas of our lives. Yoga is a flower that...
