Proof of the power of Prayer and getting better as you age. February 2nd, 2012 (12:37 pm). Dear flist - this may be long and boring, but it is really important to me and I hope some of you actually read it all the way to the end.it should, at least, have amusing parts.). I may have mentioned casually somewhere along the line that I am not particularly athletic. I should clarify. I am not particularly athletic the way Neville Longbottom was not particularly adept at Snapes potions classes. Ben Franklin sa...

Singin’ the Blues. Blankie Tales – The Story of a Well-Kept Secret. Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History. Thom 2 Productions Inc. Singin’ the Blues. March 11, 2009, 12:36 am. That picture at the top of this post? That’s me and a juvenile bluebird the spring I raised four baby bluebirds from 9 days of age to release as free-flying young birds in full plumage nearly two months later. One of the most worthwhile things I have ever done or will ever do. Freebird. 11 Comments so far. We’re hu...

Singin’ the Blues. Blankie Tales – The Story of a Well-Kept Secret. Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History. Thom 2 Productions Inc. March 8, 2009, 7:05 pm. In high school. He and Robert Frost and Carl Sandburg stayed with me. I’ve always thought poetry was more like a painting than prose. Sometimes what is left unsaid is the most powerful, words like shadows in a painting. 5 Comments so far. March 9, 2009 @ 4:00 am. March 10, 2009 @ 6:08 am. March 11, 2009 @ 12:41 pm. Singin’ the Blues. Blankie Tales – The Story of a Well-Kept Secret. Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History. Thom 2 Productions Inc. I Get By With a Little Help…. November 29, 2007, 3:35 pm. You know who you are; all of you who sent me get well wishes, thought about me, prayed for me, lit a candle in front of the Infant of Prague, called, sent cards, gifts and just wished me well. Thank you all. Les, fellow rebel and bad girl in arms, sent me a great bag, perfect for toting a yarn project and a ...

Night Owl Knits: July 2008
http://nightowlknits.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 9, 2008. Sometimes yarn cajoles. Sometimes it bellows. I went on a bit of a yarn crawl today with several of my SnB friends – Cheryl (our gracious driver), Terry (who provided the cute little GPS gadget) and Nancy, a co-worker at my LYS. Foolishly I forgot to bring my camera, so all I can do is show the aftermath. We started at Green Planet Yarn. 8211; what a beautiful shop! This is very close to the kind of shop I’d open. If I had lots of money just lying about. When I win the Lotto.

Night Owl Knits: August 2008
http://nightowlknits.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 13, 2008. Today was picture day. Graduating seniors have to have their pictures done well ahead of time and as luck would have it Ray and I both had appointments for haircuts on this very day - Ms. R had to move her appointment up by several. Hours and was scheduled to be with another stylist since Gina, goddess of. Hair, wasn't usually in quite so early. Gina is hilarious and a ton of fun packed into a tiny little body with a delightful Irish accent and she can make my hair look good.

Night Owl Knits: So. Sock Summit.
http://nightowlknits.blogspot.com/2009/08/so-sock-summit.html
Wednesday, August 19, 2009. Sock Summit was pretty much everything that I might have hoped for. Amazing people. Fabulous yarns. Outstanding classes. Voodoo doughnuts. I have to say I hated the lighting in the convention center – a migraine inducing set of yellowish fluorescents that had me on a steady dose of Imitrex, leaving me pretty loopy a lot of the time. Yech. I didn't have any particular shopping list and so I bought the things that really called to me. I blame the combination of Imitrex and w...

Night Owl Knits: August 2009
http://nightowlknits.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 28, 2009. I’m officially OLD. At the risk of annoying the vast legions of knitters who are young at heart – last week I officially landed in the “old” category. Old = you no longer have children. The two people I’ve birthed are officially adult. S Therefore: I’m old. Nor will we get much sleep that night. Since Matthew and Rachel were born on consecutive days the third week of August tends to become Birthday Week, a no holds-barr. Ed extravaganza of parental indulgence. Sort of. Of course ...
