Likely useless meanderings...

Wednesday, August 10, 2011. My response to Psalm 24. Our morning reading assignment at Re:Train. Father thank you for sending the Son. As I look at today's reading assignment, it really brought to life the reality of Christ's atoning work on the cross. I find it very easy to remain stuck in my sin, to allow feelings of 'I'll never be good enough' to leave me stuck in place and unable to be in the Father's presence. You and I have the blessing of history, David didn't have it, he had the hope of what was ...

Likely useless meanderings...: August 2009

http://youthguy.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html

Friday, August 14, 2009. This has been my big harping point all summer, so I'll say it once on here and hopefully you won't have to hear it again. I came across this idea after hearing Shane Claiborne speak at the Youth Specialties conference in Toronto last year. I loved what he said so much that I instantly bought his book. I still stop when I flip past Family Guy for longer than I probably should, but I'm getting better at it. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Follow me on Twitter. Find me on Facebook.

Likely useless meanderings...: Home, and not sure I’m lovin’ it.

http://youthguy.blogspot.com/2010/08/home-and-not-sure-im-lovin-it.html

Monday, August 23, 2010. Home, and not sure I’m lovin’ it. Well, I mean, I am lovin' it, I love my family and I'm really glad to be home with them. But I would be just as happy to be in Guatemala with them. I think I'm really struggling now with what to do now that we're home. Magdalena was truly a life changing experience. Even the poorest of the poor among us can at least find a water fountain and drink clean water! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Follow me on Twitter. Find me on Facebook.

Likely useless meanderings...: Grace v. ???

http://youthguy.blogspot.com/2010/01/grace-v.html

Friday, January 1, 2010. Some thoughts after what might be possible my most disappointing night of youth ministry so far. *More reasons to hate all-nighters! Sometimes I love this job, other times I hate it. Oddly enough, tonight I love this job and hate some of the things I have to see because of it. It really comes down to sin I suppose. The world has seduced these two guys with their 'goods' and they've both fallen for it. Please, don't take the world at its word. January 21, 2010 at 4:47 PM.

Likely useless meanderings...: January 2010

http://youthguy.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Thursday, January 28, 2010. In the aftermath of our annual general meeting in which it was emphasized that our music teams don't know how to play together, I've had some thoughts about us backward Christians. First this: We like to talk about our faith as if we are in a battle. Imagine going into a war with your army - who coincidentally was entirely willing to blow your head off if you do something that they don't like. (your gun is too loud! Seems a little ridiculous doesn't it? Let me say this too, th...

Lamourstewski Crossing: August 2006

http://thelamoureuxs.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html

Saturday, August 12, 2006. This morning I woke up to the smell of curry coming from outside. Turns out our neighbours are having a huge engagement party tonight. How exciting! I love peeking in on the fesitivities and checking out the traditions, dancing/singing, and beautiful clothing worn by the women! More to come on that later. Hrm, maybe a slight bit of procrastination happening! To my husband, Chris, I adore you. Your love for me and commitment to our marriage I cherish greatly and hold close t...

Lamourstewski Crossing: September 2006

http://thelamoureuxs.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html

Monday, September 18, 2006. Yes, its that time again. This weekend was awesome, but very tiring. Chris and I were down in White Rock all weekend helping serve and prepare food at the Salmon Festival and Pow-Wow. If we weren't at home sleeping or showering, we were down in Semiahmoo busy working! It was a great time and I got to spend some quality time with the girls (Sam and Leann) and I saw my nephew for the first time since December! He's gorgeous and so happy and full of life! God is so good! I guess ...

Posted by The Lamoureux's at 7:57 PM. Sunday, March 18, 2007. 1 day to go. Wow, has it really been this long since I last posted? What new you might ask? I had more time to get some things done for work and to properly transition my cases to the two girls who are taking over for me. I am still going to be staying on with a ...

Thursday, June 29, 2006. Where does the time go? Tomorrow I have a bit of work and then respite for the afternoon and evening.what does that mean? I love doing respite with the kids, yah I suppose it's work, but its hangin' out and having fun so it's a different kind of work and definatley the way to end off my work week before the Canada Day weekend. What am I thinking about today? You can pray too if you would like! I need all that I can get! Posted by The Lamoureux's at 9:03 PM. Since this weather got...

Sunday, November 26, 2006. So he gets out his handy-dandy book and figures out its the clutch cable, calls around, finds one and takes my car to go to Lordco and pick it up. Yes, everything is moving in the right direction. He gets the cable in and it works fantastically! Way to go hubby on being all mechanical and stuff! Breathe a sigh of relief, the car wasn't overly expensive and it's working! Anyways, gotta run.lots to do. Hope all is well with everyone else. I will do that! Tuesday, November 21, 2006.

Lamourstewski Crossing: February 2007

http://thelamoureuxs.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html

Sunday, February 25, 2007. Like most people in the East Fraser Valley, we woke up to snow sprinkling the ground at 5:00 am on Friday morning. Chris went into work for a few hours and I got up and started packing and tidying the house. By 10 am, the sun was shining beautifully and it was time to pull out the sunglasses. At the moment, I am sitting up in my Mom's bunkie writing this post. The bunkie is her room over the garage, which I posted some pictures of back a few months ago. She did a great job!

Lamourstewski Crossing: December 2006

http://thelamoureuxs.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html

Friday, December 29, 2006. Good times, good eats. Only a few more days of holidays before we return home to Abbotsford and to work. We have both had an awesome chance to relax and spend quality time with my parents. Yesterday was my Dad's 56th birthday, so we celebrated with a pizza dinner (his choice) and apple crumble with frozen yogurt as dessert. I went to bed early and had a fantastically large sleep once again! My hubby, the token coffee maker of the bunch! Ps TJ please send pictures! Here are a fe...

Lamourstewski Crossing: May 2006

http://thelamoureuxs.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html

Wednesday, May 31, 2006. What a perfect start to the day. A sleep in until 8:30 am and a mix of running errands, relaxing around the house, and catching up on paperwork. I work this afternoon but its been nice to have a more relaxed morning. Chris came home on time last night! It was so cool to see him walk through the door much earlier than I had expected. Tonight I think he might even be home on time again! Posted by The Lamoureux's at 9:50 AM. Tuesday, May 30, 2006. Needless to say, my house shows it!

Wednesday, September 2, 2009. Waiting game: US Visa. Scientists, postdocs and students planning to travel to the United States to work or study need two things before applying for a visa: time and patience. Some researchers are worried that the delays might mean collaborators give up coming altogether (see 'Unwelcome guest'. The US National Postdoctoral Association also called for regulatory changes earlier this year, including a new non-immigrant visa for postdocs. Although the state department brought ...

When Alex got a news update on his phone that Steve Jobs had died. Facebook has been littered with Apple followers’ farewell’s and the blog world has been lighting up this morning.
