So I haven't posted on here for nearly a year. I know. I know. I'm really sorry. It's just that I have been busy. Between school and work and developing a social life, I haven't had time for Blogger. However, I am free for the summer and I hope to post some until I return to school again. Until then, a quick update:. Things That Stayed The Same:. I still work in the library and the writing center. Um, that's really all I can think of that's relevant. . . . Things That Have Changed:. Nicht so gut.), c...

Who Is The Worst Blogger In The World? Therefore, I apologize for my prolonged absence, both from blogging and the internet in general. I have neglected crits, personal messages, blog posts, and a whole slew of other things that I have truly hated missing, and I am so sorry about that! I am trying to catch up, but it’s going to be awhile. To give a quick update about myself:. Death of a Salesman. A Streetcar Named Desire. A slew of short stories, and a certain book entitled Mockingjay. I have joined Sigm...

My Life According to My Bookshelf. My dear friend Penguins recently posted this clever game in which one answers a series of questions with the titles of books currently on one's bookshelf. A few months back, we did the same thing with song titles from favorite bands. (Mine is on my book blog in the right bottom corner. It's " My Life According to Pink Floyd. So let's have a bit of book fun. Are you a male or female. Little Women (Louisa May Alcott). The Reader (Bernhard Schlink). How do you feel. What i...

Dress British; Think Yiddish. I stole the title of this post from Gene Simmons- the Israeli-born frontman of KISS who once trained to be a rabbi. Simmons claims the key to being successful is to "dress British; think Yiddish." I kind of wonder if he isn't referring to the Yiddish term. Literally "a Jewish head", which refers to being shrewd- as opposed to a ". Which is, well, a Yiddish phrase that means to not be quite so shrewd, but that's besides the point. He has a banana peel on his suit! Kibbitz: (v...

Grammatically Motivated: Sweet Dreams Are Made Of These
http://grammaticallymotivated.blogspot.com/2011/07/sweet-dreams-are-made-of-these.html
Sweet Dreams Are Made Of These. Do any of you put any stock in dreams? In the former type of dreams, my pursuers have included my mom, axe murderers, aliens, Robert Mitchum as The Preacher in. The Night of the Hunter. Angry pigs, and Nazis. The dream featuring the Nazis was set in WWII-era Holland. I know because I asked someone else who was running away from the Nazis with me. I shouted at him "Where are we? This has to be a dream! Loose Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean people are not following me!

Lightning, Lightning- Very, Very Frightening. Little nerdy Zella was so happy that, instead of getting on the internet last night as she always does, she decided to stay up until the wee hours of the morning- or however long it would be on- watching the documentary. I was watching my Soviet documentary. Horrible Chihuahua owner that I am, I had forgotten his bone. He has developed a liking for peanut-flavored bones that borders on addiction, and there were none in my room. How thoughtless of me! Just as ...

Stranger in a Stranger World. Problems of persons who are detached, unrelated, lacking in affect, tending toward depersonalization, and covering up their problems by means of intellectualization and technical formulations." - Rollo May. Friday, June 25, 2010. Warning: Big Fat Lies Ahead. Several days ago, I got an email from zella at grammatically motivated. The same zella from zella kate. Serena's Musings: April 2010

Tuesday, April 27, 2010. I have two unusually delicious recipes and a list of villains to share with you. Melt butter and mix in powdered sugar until it has the consistency of frosting. Spread on saltine crackers. It is so delicious and addicting! You can use non-homemade frosting, but it won't be as good as powdered sugar and butter frosting. I'm not exactly sure what this tagging thing is, but Zella. She decreases entropy in order to kill by coincidence on purpose! 5 The villain from Demons and Angels:...

After my self-imposed exile from blogging, I am back in action! At least, for now, I am back in action. In the time I have been gone, I have moved into my dorm, underwent a one week orientation, and finished my first week of classes. A lot has happened- more than will fit in a blog post- so I have condensed this into a greatest hits-type collection of random things I've learned this past couple of weeks:. 1 When you move into your dorm, unpack your own stuff so you know where it is:. A neurotic nerdbag&#...
