Debbie Palen Illustration: Wing It
http://debbiepalen.blogspot.com/2015/03/wing-it.html
Monday, March 2, 2015. There are only 18 days until spring, although here in Ohio we don't believe it. There may be some hope after all, as the sun is shining today, and the cats are jockeying for position to claim the one and only sunspot. I really want to believe spring will come, I really do. The baby birds must be chirping somewhere. I felt like using traditional media: pastels on sanded pastel paper. Photoshop was employed for some touch-up and the placing and dropshadow of the title.

In The Making: May 2009

Sunday, May 31, 2009. I really enjoy making Medallia. I love making things that are small and can be carried in a pocket or purse. especially when they're wrapped in a kerchief for safe keeping. I guess its the old fashioned part of me; the part that loves writing letters, giving gifts to people for no particular reason, and old movies where the farewell scenes take way to long and include lots of intense stares. Friday, May 29, 2009. I got a lot of work done today! I even had time to make a mess! I'll p...

In The Making: Waxes from forever ago!
http://samanthastellareis.blogspot.com/2011/01/waxes-from-forever-ago.html
Thursday, January 13, 2011. Waxes from forever ago! The waxes I promised in the May 29th 2009 entry. Still incomplete…. Despite his dystrophy, his imagination would not atrophy. He lies with his eyes but his smile always tells the truth. This is about a man I worked with who had. They had to sew his face back on; He can’t stop drawing yellow buses;. In The Making: Missoula Montana
http://samanthastellareis.blogspot.com/2011/08/missoula-montana.html
Sunday, August 7, 2011. The city of Missoula Montana. Driving through a storm somewhere in Montana. The sky just opened up, like in classical paintings. I was half expecting the hand of some one's god to reach down. I figured out why they call this place "Big Sky Country". Have I mentioned my appreciation for the aesthetics of power lines? This is actually Wyoming, i think. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Do you like trees? Wanna go to a drivein movie? Wanna see some interesting things?
