Seven Wonders: March 2012
http://christinas7wonders.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 2, 2012. Sometimes it seems to me that every couple of months, I hear about another study that has found another food or health product to be dangerous to our health. Moreover, I’m pretty sure that over my lifetime of 30 years, some foods or health products have zig-zagged from being deemed “healthy” to being deemed “unhealthy.”. For example, a few months ago, I read an article that a few people on my Facebook had posted: “ 7 Things You Should Never Eat. Healthy foods themselves, right?

Seven Wonders: March 2015

Monday, March 9, 2015. The winter months involve a different way of life for my household compared to the spring-to-fall months. As Joel and I are both in seasonal lines of work, we can truly hibernate from Christmas until almost April. Regardless of how I feel, as soon as the temperatures drop and the snow falls, so many thoughts are unleashed about so many topics. What am I doing with my life? What should I have done? What should I continue to do, and what things about myself should I improve on? IR...

Tuesday, April 23, 2013. The Quest for a Quest. A song came on the radio in my car a week or two ago, and I instantly clicked with it. Sirius Radio conveniently told me what it was. Then I forgot about it until I heard it again yesterday: “Make It To Me” by Manchester Orchestra and Grouplove. Last night, I was sitting on my couch and thought, “Oh yeah! I’ll just pick up my iPhone, which is generally beside me at all times, go the iTunes Store and buy it! I went to iTunes. The song wasn’t there. This expe...

Seven Wonders: October 2012

Saturday, October 6, 2012. Screens, Beeps and Auto-Correct. Yes, life today is full of conveniences, and the technologies that have become so commonplace allow for information and communication to be transferred and exchanged quickly, and allow for crisp images in movies and tons of things to experience online, and answers to millions of questions to appear at your fingertips. What’s on the other side? Well, I have to confess that sometimes I feel a little bit of pressure to keep up with technology. ...

Seven Wonders: July 2013
http://christinas7wonders.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 31, 2013. 8220;Knights of Shame” by AWOLNATION. This song, like many others, changed me, in a way. I don’t like to throw the word “epic” around, but I would throw it around all day long to do “Knights of Shame” some justice. In whatever way a song can impact one’s quality of life, this song impacted me into next year.or somewhere even farther.I’m not quite sure yet. This is me, at my cousin's wedding, totally in the zone when we were dancing to "Knights of Shame.". View my complete profile.

Wednesday, July 18, 2012. My Head is an Animal. Of Monsters and Men's album cover, My Head is an Animal. Any time an album or a song really resonates with me, I like to write about it. This week, I want to tell you my thoughts on the debut album My Head is an Animal. Who are these people? Of Monsters and Men is a six-person group from Iceland, each person bearing a very intricately-spelled Icelandic name, and you can find out more about them by following the links below. They won an Iceland battle of...

Friday, October 11, 2013. A Three-Hour Comedy of Errors. These guys contribute to the adult-energy-depletion phenomenon known as a side effect of parenting. A few hours later, in the dark, at 6 am, about an hour before I was planning on getting up, I hear it. The sound of my one-year-old, Lennon, calling me. “Mama! Oh gosh. Really? Wait, I rationalize. Is he fully awake, or maybe just partially awake? Will he fall back asleep? Yeah, he probably will. It’s still pretty early. Somehow, Lennon is hungry aga...

Seven Wonders: November 2014
http://christinas7wonders.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 4, 2014. This is one of the nice things about winter. I broke down a couple days ago and turned the heat on in my house. It’s that time again.fall is letting go as winter begins to crush us all. Last winter, Joel said to me, “You just have to embrace it! Embrace the cold and the snow! 8221; I fully and completely decided against embracing winter last winter, but this winter, since I have a little bit of time here to anticipate and brace for the storm (and because resisting winter didn't...

Seven Wonders: December 2013
http://christinas7wonders.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 31, 2013. Anyway, those moments.those moments are significant. And very often extremely relatable. And I realized this year that those moments are small, quick, bright lights of life that possess an unforgettable quality. Those moments can be a little elusive at first, but once you locate them, either within big events or during every-days, they will shine and become bigger than the flashes of time they were originally discovered in. February 14, at a Tragically Hip concert in Toronto:.

Wednesday, April 23, 2014. Aurawhat a beautiful word, and what a mysterious word, and what a fearful word. My heart rolls over and then quickly gets back to pumping, a bit faster now. I never know how to announce it, in order to excuse myself from whatever I'm doing. Words can never describe the foreboding intensity. “Oh no, I’m getting a migraine” are just flat words in comparison to the havoc my brain is starting to contend with. Is Aura a mystic? What is she trying to do to me? As much as I try to con...
