Travel Album and Tips. Stories of travel experiences, about FOODSNOBS. Thursday, October 20, 2005. MOUNT TAMBORINE,QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA. The view from Mount Tamborine. Looking from the hand gliders' stand. Another view fron Eagle Height, Mount Tamborine. This is the famous Polish sauceage, cooked in beer, served on top of saurkraft. Very good. A collection of paintings by David Fam. He is an Architect by profession and drawing and watercolour painting has always been his passion. It was not until in his middle forties that he decided to take it up seriously, painting on his own during weekends and evenings after work. Tuesday, September 13, 2005. BLACHAN,(DRIED PRAWN PASTE). Lady's fingers with Blachan dip. On the right is home made, the one on the left is from the shops. Today’s subject is a Malay condiment, ‘Belachan’. There are many variations to the spelling, blacan, blachen. And belacan all means the same thing. To use the belachan, slice off a piece. Some recipes call for raw belachan, while others you have to toast over a fire. Today’s recipe is a simple boiled lady’s finger or okra with a sambal blachan dip.

Wednesday, March 19, 2008. YEE SANG (PROSPERITY DISH). This is a very popular dish eaten during Chinese New Year. To make this dish you need to do alot of cutting and peeling,. To start, get a very sharp knife. 1 raddish- white carrot. 1 med size cucumber. 1 sargort ( chinese white turnip). Lots of fresh corriander leaves. You can also add honey dew melon. 4 kaffar lime leaves. Wash and cut up finely, arrange in heaps around a big round plate. 1/2 bowl apricot jam. 1/2 bowl plum jam. 2 tablsp. honey.

Monday, May 15, 2006. SARDINE CURRY WITH LADY'S FINGERS. This simple curry is a well loved curry, easy and simple to cook, something that you can cook up in 10mins. Can sardines is always found in Malaysian household. A good stand by for hungry people! You need a med size can of sardines. Some lady's fingers, boil 5 mins. Some tomatoes, 2 slices assam pieces.
