Ravenous Rowie: CSN Zester/Grater Review

http://rowieonpendertime.blogspot.com/2011/02/csn-zestergrater-review.html

Tuesday, February 8, 2011. How's everyone doing this week? I've been enjoying this slow time of year. Reading, knitting, kayaking, hiking and, of course, baking. I've also been playing with a few new toys I got in the mail! CSN stores let me choose some things from their stores to review, so after many hours of drooling over pages upon pages of fun kitchen stuff I chose 3 zester/graters. I got 3 different ones, each of a different coarseness. The first is your typical zester, and I had. No more crunchy b...

Ravenous Rowie: Glass Dharma Winner!

http://rowieonpendertime.blogspot.com/2011/02/glass-dharma-winner.html

Friday, February 4, 2011. SO sososo sorry about the delay in announcing the giveaway winner! Ben and I went on vacation to Mt. Washington, and I brought my computer thinking there would be service. There wasn't! Despite my short freak-out session about not being able to post the winner, we had a wonderful time! We stayed 3 nights, went tubing, and went snowshoeing! We had beautiful weather, and a nice little condo to hang out in! Do you guys have a favorite? We'll see when the time comes. I guess I have.

Ravenous Rowie: January 2011

http://rowieonpendertime.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Monday, January 24, 2011. Hello there foodie friends! Today I wanted to tell you about a new product I tried. Glass Dharma. My first impression on taking these out of the box? I got 4 different types of straws: original straight, original bent, smoothie, and mini. Two of them have these beautiful glass bubbles of color on them. If I had multiple straws the colors would help a group of people tell which straw is theirs, but for now I just admire the color as I'm sipping! They are perfect for everyone who ...

Ravenous Rowie: How to Temper Chocolate

http://rowieonpendertime.blogspot.com/2010/11/how-to-temper-chocolate.html

Tuesday, November 16, 2010. How to Temper Chocolate. Today was yet another fun filled day of chocolate, truffles and packaging! I can't believe how fast this weekend is coming! I totally just released the tension by shopping. Yeah, and I spent a lot too. Uh, don't tell Ben, OK? It's just that I was browsing through the baking books on Amazon, and happened to come across a whole section of cookie decorating books (which happen to be my weakness! Have I convinced you yet? Yeah, I convinced me too! You real...

http://rowieonpendertime.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Tuesday, August 31, 2010. For years my dad would make a special breakfast for me on weekends. It was our thing. Sometimes it was waffles, sometimes a fried egg sandwich. But my favorite was a Dutch baby. This is an easy but delicious breakfast, impressive looking and fun to eat. There are so many ways to serve it! With jam, with berries, with syrup, or my favorite.powdered sugar and lemon juice. Here is Dad's recipe. Pre-heat oven to 425*. Meanwhile, put eggs into a blender and mix for 1 minute. A great ...

Travel, Recipes, Art and Business. Saturday, 22 June 2013. Hot Cars in Cache Creek. Recently, I was driving through the Cache Creek junction and heard the sound of hot cars roaring. A large voluminous cloud drifted over the highway smelling rankly of burnt rubber. Naturally, I had to pull over and have a look. I had stumbled upon the "Burn Out" session of Cache Creek's annual Graffiti Days, a 1950's festival featuring classic cars, trucks and bikes. Tuesday, 24 April 2012. RIVIERA MAYA AKUMAL BEACH.

A Canadian Girl in Shanghai

Friday, July 17, 2015. Being back in Canada is nice. It's our normal. And yet, there are so many times when we say "In China we'd do it like this." and it makes us feel a little home-sick. So tonight I was flipping through a couple of shots of Old Luxu (Looshoo. Our town, like many in the west, has an old section and a new section) and I thought they'd be fun to share. So you know candy-apples, right? Well these are candy-hawthorn berries! Cotton candy is the same as home. But again, SO CHEAP! For now, w...
