But when a mysterious body is discovered in an Appalachian cave, she is forced to return home. Could it be the body of her mother, who disappeared while organizing her community against mountaintop removal? A Case of the Dismals is supported by a grant from the New York State Council on the Arts and was one of 12 projects selected worldwide for the Venice Biennale Cinema College.
