Meet Pat | A Crafty Village

https://acraftyvillage.wordpress.com/about-2/meet-pat

Tales from Great Hatfield. Having studied art and pottery at college, I had great ideas of where this love of art would take me. Instead, life took over, I spent 30 years teaching art, getting married and bringing up 3 children and don’t regret any of it. This is a painting I did of my son when he was very young. Now, my children have grown up, my husband plays golf and I have retired so can now return to doing all the things I once promised myself I would do. Liz's Holiday Cottages.

Meet Jackie | A Crafty Village

Tales from Great Hatfield. At the end of 2011 we attended a craft and christmas fair in a barn! Just to show how we suffer for our crafts below is a picture of me valiantly manning the Crafty Village Stall in the freezing cold…. I have lived in the village with my husband John for some 14 years now, and this is one place which will not become pre-loved, nor says my husband, will he! Liz's Holiday Cottages. Meet Carole | A Crafty Village

https://acraftyvillage.wordpress.com/about/meet-carole

Tales from Great Hatfield. Hi, I’m Carole Stagg, a newcomer to this friendly East Yorkshire Village. Now that the dust has settled after the move from South Wales I have the time to explore this beautiful area. With its combination of coast and country it provides the perfect scenery to inspire me to paint. Feel free to ask me any questions about my work. Keep in touch, and follow my progress through the seasons, as I discover more colourful scenes to capture in watercolour. Liz's Holiday Cottages.

Meet Fred and David | A Crafty Village

https://acraftyvillage.wordpress.com/about/meet-fred

Tales from Great Hatfield. Meet Fred and David. A few year’s ago my wife bought me a day in Dent learning how to make shepherd’s crooks. I proudly went home with the said stick and have been making them ever since, My wife may have regretted the day as I now have quite a collection and they are taking over the sun room. David joined me in the garden enjoyingthe pleasure of making these wonderful ‘sticks’ and in between the flowing wine we actually managed to produce some excellent pieces.

Angela | A Crafty Village

Tales from Great Hatfield. I always enjoyed painting as a hobby since, as a child during the early 60’s, I found a huge bumper tin of paints in my Christmas stocking. Anyone remember those enormous painting sets? Open the lid, and what must have amounted to around 200 jewel-like little paint-blocks of every imaginable colour were revealed, more than enough a child would ever need to produce their own masterpiece. I show here a selection of original watercolours, popped into 6″ x 8″ cards, whi...Get every...

A Crafty Triumvariate

Sunday, February 8, 2009. Songwriting (3) - Dummy Lyrics and Song Outline. Let's get right to things.  . From the last post was to fix the scansion of Oil Bin, and choose whether you want masculine or feminine rhyme. You chose to do the extra credit exercise of increasing the number of lines in each verse, so I'll print that.  . Oil Bin - Draft 2. I open up my oil bin and find a little gin. I drink the gin and find that I have made a little sin. The sin makes me excited. My love is unrequited . I'm glad ...

A Crafty Village | Tales from Great Hatfield

Tales from Great Hatfield. A crafty view on village life. May 28, 2011 by acraftyvillage. I can’t grow vegetables or sew a straight line and the birds turn their nose up at my cakes, but I love wood and can’t resist buying old furniture that I can transform with a sander and a tin of paint. From the recognition of my shortcomings came the germ of an idea that has grown into A Crafty Village. A leaflet drop around our gorgeous village brought forth a wealth of talent just waiting to be discovered. A Craft...

Wednesday, May 18, 2016. A Quilt Show Celebration. I became a member of the Calico Quilt Guild about 13 years ago and I have learned so much over those years from some amazing women. Dusty Majors founded the Calico Quilt Guild in 1986 and this past April, we celebrated our 30th birthday. Every other year, the Calico Quilters puts on a quilt show over Memorial Day weekend during a local event called Mule Days here in good ole Bishop, California. Two different challenge blocks made by guild members. We als...
