http://transpacificlearningadventure.blogspot.com/2009/06/sharlenes-first-week-in-minnesota.html
Wednesday, June 10, 2009. Sharlene's First Week In Minnesota. Here are some pics from Sharlene's first week in Minnesota. Of course we had to take her fishing. Sharlene has made friends with a fluffy white duck named Peepers. Peepers and Sharlene joined my Mom, Dad, Sisters and Grandpa while we fished on Blackduck Lake for walleyes. Sharlene helped me fish. Mom or Dad would cast my line out for me and then Sharlene and I would slowly reel the minnow and jig back to the boat. Here is a picture of me holdi...

Big Blue House: FRIENDS
http://sdisse.blogspot.com/2011/05/friends.html
Wednesday, May 25, 2011. Friends are like balloons;. Once you let them go, you might not get them. Back Sometimes we get so busy with our own. Lives and problems that we may not even notice. That we've let them fly away. Sometimes we are so. Caught up in who's right and who's wrong that we. Forget what's right and wrong. Sometimes we just. Don't realize what real friendship means until it. Is too late. I don't want to let that happen so. I'm going to tie you to my heart so I never lose.

Big Blue House: The Crabby Old Man
http://sdisse.blogspot.com/2010/05/crabby-old-man.html
Wednesday, May 19, 2010. The Crabby Old Man. I recently received this story and poem from a good friend through email. You might have already read it but I felt strongly that it is worth sharing here. When an old man died in the geriatric ward of a nursing ho9me in North Platte, Nebraska, it was believed he had nothing left of any value. And this little old man, with nothing left to give to the world, is now the author of this 'anonymous' poem winging across the internet. What do you see nurses? I'll tel...

Big Blue House: TELL ME THIS WON'T HAPPEN TO US!
http://sdisse.blogspot.com/2011/05/tell-me-this-wont-happen-to-us.html
Sunday, May 15, 2011. TELL ME THIS WON'T HAPPEN TO US! An elderly woman called 911 on her cell phone to report that her car had been broken into. She is hysterical as she explains her situation to the dispatcher: 'They've stolen the stereo, the steering wheel, the brake pedal and even the accelerator! She cried. The dispatcher said, 'Stay calm. An officer is on the way.' A few minutes later, the officer radios in 'Disregard.' He says. 'She got in the back-seat by mistake.'. View my complete profile.

Big Blue House: Joke of the Day
http://sdisse.blogspot.com/2011/04/joke-of-day.html
Saturday, April 30, 2011. Joke of the Day. Two Polish (you may put in your own nationality) hunters got a pilot to fly them into the Canadian wilderness, where they managed to bag two big Bull Moose. As they were loading the plane to return, the pilot said the plane could take only the hunters, their gear and one Moose. The hunters objected strongly saying, "Last year we shot two, and the pilot let us take them both. and he had exactly the same airplane as yours.". Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Friday, April 24, 2009. My three younger brothers were always referred to collectively as "The Little Boys". Kent, the oldest, was always Kent. And, me, the only girl, Gisel. But Dan, Tom and Sam were always "The Little Boys" as if they were an ameoba and could not be divided into individual cells. My mother would call us in for dinner: "Kent, Gisel. The Little Boys! I wonder if the Little Boys have joint checking accounts. Once upon a time. She was pretty steadfast about the snow white. Thing and it took...

Brainy and Beautiful: July 2009
http://brainyandbeautiful3.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 16, 2009. On July 30, 2008, my father's father died. Yesterday, nearly a year later, I went to visit my father's mother as she lay dying. Grammy has been suffering from Alzheimer's Disease. For several years. Recently, she had a bout of Pneumonia and, it seems, never fully recovered. Currently, she is being kept as comfortable as possible while the inevitable takes it's course. Also, I am a grandchild, not a child, might it not be my place? In high school, I had to interview an older membe...
