Tuesday, June 26, 2012. I just realized this post never made it to my blog. It was written a few weeks ago. So there are a few more updates since! Colin and Brett mowing the lawn. Cleaning up the backyard after chopping down a tree. Tuesday, June 26, 2012. Wednesday, May 2, 2012. Colin was such a trooper, it's not easy to be 2 yrs old and sit still on an airplane for 4 hours at a time. Thank goodness for my work iPad which provided at least an hour of enjoyment (for Colin and me) in both directions&#...

Adventures in Cocktails: Artisanal and Classic recipes
Based on one of my favorite all time cocktails the Boulevardier, I concocted the Blackberry Bombardier as a riff on this famous classic. 1 1/2 oz Rye. 3/4 oz Sweet Vermouth. Muddle the blackberry, add the other ingredients, shake and double strain into a coupe or over a big cube. Careful not to overdo the Absinthe, I keep mine in a dropper bottle and I do about 1.5 dropper fulls. I often serve this up but decided to put it over a big cube for the photo. Garnish with a lemon peel. 3/4 oz Rye whiskey.

Adventures in Coding | I learn, you learn, we all learn!
I learn, you learn, we all learn! Ray Tracing From Scratch. January 18, 2009. I’ve been sifting around and learning some more “advanced” topics. I’ve some calculus (limits, derivatives, integration, etc), lots of vector math, quaternions, video game lighting algorithms and other stuff. I’ve given myself a goal of writing a ray tracer from scratch. It would be a useful learning experience as well as a useful tool in the future. Floating point accuracy, lesson learned.
