The Adventures of Liz in London

The Adventures of Liz in London. Saturday, May 7, 2011. The past four months have gone by so quickly! I legitimately cannot believe that I'm going to be on a plane home in about 60 hours. I want to be home, but I don't want to leave London behind! First off, a recap of the week: finals, stress, papers, finals, more papers, reward self with souvenir shopping, stress, and more finals. Basically, I've been busy. Hence not posting since the royal wedding. I finished my work. Friday, April 29, 2011. When Will...

The Adventures of Liz in London: Day three: mind blown

http://adventuresoflizinlondon.blogspot.com/2011/04/day-three-mind-blown.html

The Adventures of Liz in London. Friday, April 8, 2011. Day three: mind blown. I realize this has almost nothing to do with the whole "London experience" thing, but it's pretty awesome. Today is the third consecutive sunny day at or above 65 degrees in London. Right now it is 68 and gloriously sunny; there isn't a cloud in the sky! Sorry to hear that you folks back home are getting snow. I've been there, it sucks. Here are some photos of my street in today's marvelous sunshine:. April 8, 2011 at 9:32 PM.

The Adventures of Liz in London: Easter and last week of classes!

http://adventuresoflizinlondon.blogspot.com/2011/04/easter-and-last-week-of-classes.html

The Adventures of Liz in London. Monday, April 25, 2011. Easter and last week of classes! Evensong, for those of you who don't know, means that most of the service is sung by the choir. In this case, a bunch of men and adorable boys (I swear one of them couldn't have been older than four! Wearing red and white robes with an interesting neck ruffs. Westminster Choir School is actually quite renowned, and they were amazing. All I'll have left to do is take 3 finals, and then it's time to come home! Easter ...

The Adventures of Liz in London: January 2011

http://adventuresoflizinlondon.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

The Adventures of Liz in London. Sunday, January 30, 2011. This weekend the flatmates and I went on the first ICLC trip of the semester, to Bath and the West Country. It was an early start and a quick weekend, but completely worth the time spent getting there. Our first stop on Friday was Avebury. Part of the henge at Avebury. Casey and Andrea in front of the Devil's Chair. I was struck at Glastonbury, by the sheer size and scale of the place. I'm amazed whenever I visit a cathedral, abbey, or basili...

Girl in Granada: January 2012

http://thegirlingranada.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Friday, January 27, 2012. I was in the last boarding group and all the stupid business passengers took all the overhead space with their 2 carryons plus personal item. By lunch I felt spectacular again, and was excited to see that the hotel had glass bottles of soda instead of cans or plastic. I kept the caps. After lunch the buses started arriving to take us to Granada. It was a gorgeous ride, through mountains and olive… well, I’m not sure what it’s called… olive plantations? Tuesday, January 3, 2012.

I know, I know. I'll post about Morocco too, but I wanted to write this while I remember. Also, if you haven't seen my last post about Gibraltar, read it. Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Things I've learned on study abroad. First off, here is the promised facebook link. For the Cabo de Gata album. 1 Weather is fickle. This seems basic, even stupid. But you haven't been miserable until you've stood in freezing weather or rain without the proper gear. Always pack your sunglasses, umbrella, and layers. Even if you think you they're unnecessary, there's always that freak rainstorm or hot day. 6 Drink water when it's available and pee when you can. Sometimes, you're...

Girl in Granada: February 2012

http://thegirlingranada.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Salobreña, monte sin leña, mar sin pescao, niños maleducaos, curas pocos y locos. Yesterday was el Dia de Andalucia (festival of Andalusia), which means that we didn't have class! It was sort of annoying, because we had class Monday (and hence couldn't just take a long weekend to travel), but I still made the best of it. I headed to Salobreña, a beach town about an hour outside of Granada, with some of the girls from IES. Tuesday, February 21, 2012. Juice milk, by the way, i...

Sunday, April 22, 2012. Le due amiche in Italia. Sorry for the delay in posting, but hey; if nothing else I'm predictable. I've been really busy in the past few weeks (I only have 5 weeks left in Granada) and have had a hard time finding time to post. So that's why this is roughly a week late. Fast forward to February. Christina and I figured out a weekend we were both free, and I booked my ticket to fly into Rome and out of Pisa (she's studying in Siena, which is roughly between the two). I made...At th...

Girl in Granada: Italy promises

http://thegirlingranada.blogspot.com/2012/05/italy-promises.html

Tuesday, May 1, 2012. Once again, sorry about the delay. It's been a bit hectic here with assignments and class and other stuff. I've also been feeling ridiculously unmotivated due to about 3 days of gross cold rain. So, here is the promised link to my facebook album from Italy. I also managed to upload the video to youtube, so now I can post it on here. Http:/ www.youtube.com/watch? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Stepping Out of Central London by Arham Muneer. Girl in Granada: Three weeks left!

http://thegirlingranada.blogspot.com/2012/05/three-weeks-left.html

Sunday, May 6, 2012. I'm not sure if I'm happy or sad to be leaving Granada in three weeks. On one hand, I've had fun here and met some awesome people, but I also really want to go home and see everyone in NH. Anyways, here's what happened last week. My favorite part of the festival is that most of the girls (kids) and some of the boys dress up in flamenca, or sevillanas. It's basically adorable and made me want to buy a million of the dresses. Saturday, December 31, 2011. Visa and a countdown. As of this post, there are 23 days until I ship out! I'm getting excited because it's so close, but I'm also a little nervous. I got my visa in the mail last week, and it's pretty legit. I've never had a visa before, so I guess it's exciting. I have yet to receive my housing assignment, though. I just want to know who I'm going to live with! Hopefully it's a family with a little kid. I love kids! This lovely thing is a countdown to when I leave! Although...
