This is it looking from the south angle. See how he finished out the area around my shrubs? I am liking that. Yes, I know. I still have cable wires dangling from the roof. Hopefully this will get hidden soon. My yard is still a complete mess. Things are all jammed up together. Posted in Gardening and Nature. On June 18, 2009.

View From The Pines. Living And Gardening In East Texas. Posted by: Brenda Kula. July 1, 2009. What I’ve Been Up To. For those of you wondering if I’ve fallen off the face of the earth, no I haven’t. But some of you may recall my fall backwards over some piles of deck lumber nearly five weeks ago. Well, the injury to my left foot has continued to keep me out of the garden. So I haven’t posted much. Because I am virtually indoors most of the time, I am continuing to blog on my decorating/craft blog,.

Meadowview Thymes: March 2012
http://meadowviewthymes.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Notes about living and gardening somewhere down in Texas. Saturday, March 10, 2012. I didn't plant any tulips last fall. I decided it was too much trouble. Here in Texas you must chill the bulbs about 8 weeks, and they are annuals no matter what you are told. (or so I thought! I really missed watching for them to appear in February, and didn't even notice there were 2 red flowers coming up around the pond. I was really shocked when I saw the red buds mixed in with the daffs and bluebonnet. I believe I do...

Notes about living and gardening somewhere down in Texas. Saturday, May 26, 2012. I love rocks.especially in the garden. We have some in back, but I have always wanted a BIG rock in the front flower bed. So.we went to the rock store and bought some. Sounds simple, huh? It was up to us. To put the rocks where we wanted them. We had no idea how to get two 300 pound rocks up a sloping yard into a flower bed! Add one bright gerber daisy to the mix and it is done. (The begonias were already in place). They ar...

Meadowview Thymes: July 2014
http://meadowviewthymes.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Notes about living and gardening somewhere down in Texas. Monday, July 7, 2014. I planted orange Linearis (narrow-leaf) Zinnias in an old wooden planter box that I had, and placed it on a very worn blue chair that sits on the flagstone patio. Before I knew it, the plants exploded in size! Sunday, July 6, 2014. Summer by the Pond. Love all the summer colors! Flowers should remain pretty.for a while. Then time to cut back and either wait for fall blooms, or new blooms next spring. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Meadowview Thymes: January 2012
http://meadowviewthymes.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Notes about living and gardening somewhere down in Texas. Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Usually at this time of year I am watching this bed around the Chinese Pistache tree. Watching the bluebonnets grow. Not this year. Instead, I am watching the weeds grow- namely the wild carolina geraniums. Oh I am so mad about all these weeds. I wish you could see how thick they are. Grrrrhave I mentioned how angry I am right now! The roots of the weeds have literally wrapped around the real. And don't come back! Not mu...

Notes about living and gardening somewhere down in Texas. Monday, June 27, 2011. I have loved zinnias since I was a little girl. It is the first flower I ever grew from seed. Mother would let me pick all I wanted and create bouquets. Sigh.love those memories. And I have continued that summer tradition of planting zinnia seeds in anticipation of the summer show of color plus cutting some of the beautiful flowers for my kitchen. This one is a candy striped. Those came from seeds Cindy at. My Corner of Katy.

Wednesday, October 29, 2008. My dear friend of more than 30 years, Kevbo (. Served this soup at a lunch he and George hosted recently. Below is the recipe in black as it was given to me by Kevbo. The red text are my added comments:. Martha Stewart's Creamy Caramelized-Onion Soup. Alamo Chili Queen: August 2009
http://alamochiliqueen.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 3, 2009. Everyone knows I love cornbread. During the winter there's nothing better than a hot pan of cornbread to warm you up. Eat it slathered in butter or crumbled into soup. It's hearty and filling. During the summer, however, I like cool foods. This recipe is a great way to have cornbread when you don't need to warm up. It's a great way to use up leftover cornbread, too. When my Mama originally got the recipe and began making this salad, we couldn't get enough of it. 1 tomato, chopped.

Thursday, December 31, 2009. I'm on a black-eyed pea binge today). This recipe comes from the back label of a can of Bush's black-eyed peas:. 1 can of Bush's black-eyed peas, rinsed and drained. 1 rib celery, chopped. 1 Tbsp onion, finely chopped. 1 Tbsp vegetable oil. Dash of cayenne pepper. 1 ripe tomato, diced. I usually double this recipe. For your new year's dining pleasure, try this dip. You get your black-eyed peas in a whole new way. Thanks to my friend Ronnie for sharing it with me:.
