Mud, form and fire. Wednesday, January 2, 2013. Form and Function with Hasegawa Natsu. Here is a youtube that shows the work of a young japanese potter Hasegawa Natsu. And her methods of work. At the 7:46 mark there is a display of her pieces presenting food. Wonderful, beautiful unity of form and function! And something that I am very interested in developing in my own work. Mud, form and fire. Tuesday, September 25, 2012. Winter and a woodstove. I am still alive and kicking. We are currently in Montreal as winter looms and we still have not installed the Intrepid II wood stove from Vermont Castings. It is such a beautiful little stove and it will allow us to stay longer into the colder times ahead. And this is the building it will keep warm once we solve some of the many small insulation issues. Thorny Issues

Tuesday, June 11, 2013. Having Fun Getting Ready for High Rose Tide. From mid April through 4th of July, I spend every available daylight hour working outside to make the gardens here at Der Rosenmeister as beautiful as possible. Guess I was out in the sun too long when my friend, Alex Solla, of Alex Solla Photography took this pic. His daughter was helping edge the bed of roses along the driveway. When I saw this strip of sod, I couldn't resist! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Roses Are Plants Too.

Thorny Issues: January 2012
http://derrosenmeister.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 2, 2012. The past year has been a good one, though challenging. The economy has impacted buying habits. Consumers don’t have as much money for the “extras” like roses. But in these times, many of you have realized how important it is to enjoy simple pleasures, like appreciating the beauty and fragrance of roses you grow yourself and have purchased some for your gardens. Wishing you a year of peace, health, happiness and roses. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Welcome to Der Rosenmeister.

This is a shot of Rosa eglanteria, the Sweetbriar rose, often found in hedgerows in rural England. It is known for these sweet, single blossoms, apple scented foliage and bright red rose hips that persist into the winter. This year, we are specializing in climbers and ramblers. To make space for our expanded ...
