Who walked this wet world. Built a wooden causeway across the marshes. And an island platform in the rising water. Not a place to live. No dwellings here,. More of a holy place,. Where they appeased gods. Of climate change as the rivers rose. Swords and daggers of fine-honed bronze. Were placed with care.

Day Three – La Pedrera and Sagradia Familia. On October 9, 2015. Today was the first of our Gaudi experience, starting at La Pedrera, built in 1905 – 10 as a combined apartment and office block. It was formally called Casa Mila after the man who commissioned it and it’s a wonderful combination of curves, smooth plaster and surreal. Today the roof, attic and one apartment is open to visitors. I’m now wondering if Parc Guell tomorrow can possibly top what we saw today. Larr; Barcelona Day Two- City Bus Tour.

The water looked tempting, but we hadn't brought our swimming gear. Memories of a cycle ride to Cromer from a few miles inland some years ago told us that swimming in cycling shorts and then wearing them to ride isn't the greatest of plans and probably much the same is true of walking clothes.
