Good things come in small packages
December 2015 – Louise's Blog
https://alwaystimefortea.net/2015/12
Good things come in small packages. December 31, 2015. I won’t sugar coat this (I have diabetes so I try to avoid added sugar, you see), you’ve sucked at times. You’ve thrown so many obstacles in the path of my family and I. You’ve made me want to just hide in a corner, until you disappear. You’ve tested our limits, every step of the way. Tonight though, I’m pleased to say that we’ve beaten you. My family and I are still here, smiling. Together. Many thanks, and looking forward to meeting you.
June 2016 – Louise's Blog

Good things come in small packages. Head Brick wall. Banging. June 23, 2016. 8220;I have no patience for people with depression”. Of course, we can’t blame someone simply for not understanding a particular circumstance. Not at all. What I think is disgusting and unacceptable, is the assumptions they make, without the knowledge or experience. It’s not fair on those living with whatever. I bet you didn’t ask to have one. Suffer with stomach ulcers? I’m pretty sure you don’t like them! So why do it? If I we...

Good things come in small packages. Letter to ‘rock-bottom’ me. January 6, 2017. I’m not going to sugar-coat this, your HBA1c is going to go up and up next year. Louise, you’re in for a long and bumpy ride between where you are now in November 2014, and when I’m writing this January 2017. I know you’re not in a great place right now, but it’s going to be ok. Have patience with yourself. 2015 and 2016 are going to test you, physically and mentally. But you are stronger than you think. You really a...Right...
April 2016 – Louise's Blog
https://alwaystimefortea.net/2016/04
Good things come in small packages. Taking back the reigns. April 25, 2016. I wish there were more hours in the day. A third of the way through 2016 and this my first blog post. Oops. It’s been a busy few months, and I’m kicking myself for not dedicating the time to write more often. What with my YLD project, job hunting and wedding planning, 2016 has flown by. Before I know it, it’ll be 6. May 2017 and I’ll be a married woman. Argh! The biggest change I’ve noticed? No basal insulin probably for over 2 m...
Bad diabetes day – Louise's Blog
https://alwaystimefortea.net/2016/10/20/bad-diabetes-day
Good things come in small packages. October 20, 2016. October 21, 2016. For the most part, I have tried to not let diabetes rule my life, or define me. I’ve been given so many opportunities as a result of having diabetes. I’ve met some amazing people and I have a whole new family, thanks to it. On the whole, diabetes doesn’t affect me too much, psychologically. That sums up how I feel right now. Why did I get what my levels were and just inject 1 correction dose? My stomach is tied up in knots, my legs f...

I Need To Accept That I'm Only Human - Type 1 Writes - Diabetes Blog

Type 1 Writes – Diabetes Blog. My Story With Type 1 Diabetes. I Need To Accept That I’m Only Human. August 13, 2015. December 27, 2015. After writing about having a perfect week numbers wise, I already knew that I was on borrowed time. I knew that I was a ticking time bomb. I knew that sooner or later, I was bound to subside. And sure enough, reality hit me in the face yesterday morning as I woke up to a lovely blood sugar reading of 17.2. And so yesterday morning rolled around, leaving me with a number ...

Saturday, May 16. 35mm film, pentax camera. Baking potatoes in the oven. That throaty trill the robin makes as she flies out of the garage. I cannot find her nest. Cedar and Tim at the farmer's market, buying salmon for dinner. The plastic film canisters from my mom, filled with last year's seed. Love in a mist, cosmos, coreopsis. Hollyhock she collected in Estes Park. Cardinal flower, cleome, calendula. Posted by Brooke Schmidt. Links to this post. Friday, May 15. The wings of winter birds. Now birdsong...
