The best Super Bowl ads according to women. Also, why half-naked men are not the same as half-naked women. | Mom-101™ | Liz Gumbinner

I don't know what I'm doing either. Posts people besides my mom seem to like. Put Me to Work. The best Super Bowl ads according to women. Also, why half-naked men are not the same as half-naked women. A funny thing happens on Super Bowl Sunday when you have one foot in advertising, and one foot in the female blogger community you end up with two separate tweet deck columns, with two totally different sets of commentary on the exact same Super Bowl commercials. The ones who also sit through all those $3mm...

Getting schooled on princesses by Julie Andrews | Mom-101™ | Liz Gumbinner

I don't know what I'm doing either. Posts people besides my mom seem to like. Put Me to Work. Getting schooled on princesses by Julie Andrews. In big gay liberal post. Okay, so it was a press conference with tea on the snack table, but. But! The Julie Andrews part was real. I have photographic evidence. Also a gift bag with a boa in it. The Sound of Music. And later, when she told me she’d been admiring my earrings the whole hour, I just about slid off my seat and onto the conference room floor. Now I lo...

My Friend London: I'm still here
http://myfriendlondon.blogspot.com/2014/10/im-still-here.html
Monday, October 6, 2014. If I even have any blog viewers left, they might be surprised that I, in fact, am not dead. After last-year's No-Coast, I went into lockdown: School, work, the endless winter. Which turned into school, work, spring, summer and fall. BUT I'm back. And preparing for what might be (probably) my last No-Coast! I was accepted into nursing school and will be a full-time student starting in January. So, if you haven't already started thinking about holiday shopping. (Really, who has?

My Friend London: June 2012
http://myfriendlondon.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 20, 2012. Every time i've checked my links list for new postings recently, i've been reminded that i haven't posted anything in ages. not that i haven't been busy. that's an understatement. I planted a garden, flower boxes, about a dozen pots. Took a two-week CNA class. Studied and passed the CNA exam. Started taking medical terminology. Made dinner about three times. I may have vacuumed a couple times. Oh, hell. i've been busy. i don't need to make a list to prove it.

My Friend London: June 2013
http://myfriendlondon.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 4, 2013. Or "how to go to school, make yarn, work and not lose your sanity. " as I lay here tying this with one finger I do wonder if I just might be nuts to keep all these plates spinning. During the winter I did a very fun project for crafty planet. I was their custom yarn dyer for the annual spring yarn shop hop. I probably should have promoted it more but Trish wanted to keep the colorway a surprise. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). http://myfriendlondon.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 27, 2013. These are for leslie. My rock 'n' roll superstar. i made these with my own hand-dyed worsted blend of lanbswool and mohair (brown sheep lamb's pride). the pattern is vancouver fog, at jen balfour's blog. These are for liz, they're a crazy-bright teal worsted wool (brown sheep naturespun), pattern loosely based on the pair above, but with a less crazy cable pattern. Here she is at work for the strib, modeling her new mitts. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). How Big is Your Stash.

My Friend London: November 2013
http://myfriendlondon.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 30, 2013. Ever wondered how to make soy votives? Here's how I do it. It starts with soy wax. I buy it per 50 lb. box. For scale, the yogurt cup isn't a single-serving, it's a 32-ouncer. Then I melt the wax in a double boiler. I forgot to take a picture of that. When it's melted, I add colorant and the fragrance. Temperature is critical. The fragrance comes in brown glass bottles. Very apothecary-like. I pour the liquid into candle molds. See the little crack? I hope I see you there!
