Friday, November 18, 2005. Apparently they do, or at least they are learning! Today in my conversation class I taught the guys, while speaking spanish of course, the very basics of how to crochet, o tejer o hacer ganchillo o hacer crochet - whichever translation you find is more appropriate. :) Through all the laughing and fun, I do believe they have gained a new respect for my little hobby. It's a good thing that Christmas is considered a season, becuase my family no longer cares to pay attention to the actual dates of the Holidays but instead opts to change around the dates in order to schedule in all the required activities. Thursday, August 18, 2005. One discovers many new and interesting methods for doing things while they are in a foreign country. Yesterday myself and a few other students discovered a wonderful way to start a Grill! Let me paint the picture for you. Monday, February 27, 2006. Well, it's hard to believe, but my three and a half weeks at BAICA are actually over! After the initial shock of needing to do so much in so little a time - and the sleep deprivation that accompanied it - I fell right into the routine of teaching and truly enjoyed it! The kids were wonderful and I was happy to get to share that time with them and get to know them better. Here's a few shots from my time there. And on my last day there, the kids threw a surprise party for me!

Wednesday, May 31, 2006. Back to fun with friends and food.on May 19th some friends came over and we had comida dominicana - Dominican Republic food. Emmanuel is from the Dominican Republic so he wanted to fix some food from his home so that the rest of us could give it a try. Sunday, October 23, 2005. La Paz - Butterflies and Waterfalls. The day after Zip-Lining, a group of us made our way to the La Paz Butterfly Gardens and Waterfalls. It was simply beautiful. We first made our way through the Butterfly Gardens. Then it was on to the waterfalls (cataratas en español), which was actually a series of several falls.
