So, this is the beginning of my effort to get back into the blogging routine. Maybe at some point I'll go back and revisit some of the stuff I've missed. Ok, so I don't think we saw a tiger or a bear. but definitely some lions at the Jacksonville Zoo. Chad calls Henry "Panda" for some reason, so this was fun. You should see the outtakes of this one. Henry was totally freaking. Out and ended up causing me to bang my head on the metal elephant. Ouch! This might have been his favorite part, it was pretty fun.

We had a wonderful time with friends and family celebrating his birthday a few weeks ago. Here are some pictures. Thank you to my friend Keila for making these. I cannot take credit! Inspired by the natural world: beetles, seed pods, stones, the blue of the sky and sea. Inspiration also comes from rusted things, decaying walls, and discarded treasure. I love texture and color and a wonderful line. I work with Venetian plaster, oil paint. Graphite, pen and paper to get the effects I desire. Each painting is for me an adventure in texture.
