Not being a country or gospel music fan, I was familiar with the name, but not sure as to the genre, thinking maybe bluegrass? I’m not a bluegrass fan either.) After years of painting, and loving to paint, I found myself in yet another art class, and discovered this was something I could do that truly allowed me to portray what was in my heart into a finished piece. Me, from all angles. It’s torture →. Fire on the Mountain. There’s a big fire going on up in the White Mountains, at Alpine, about 40 miles from here. Alpine has been evacuated, and it looks like they might evacuate Greer. The really windy weather we’ve had the last several days has finally calmed down, and as a result, we can smell the smoke, which is putting a haze over everything in this area. Me, from all angles. Fire on the Mountain →. I learned so much in Rodney Thompson’s Drawing with Encaustic workshop last weekend. One of the major learnings for me was to become familiar with a butane torch, learning not only how to use it and when, but learning to love it. I immediately put in an order for one of my own when I finished the workshop. And all this, just in time for the Tucson Estates Art Show, which is this coming Saturday, March 12, from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon. On March 8, 2011 in Just Me.

An Occasional Genius
Because every now and again I have flashes of brilliance. These have been elevated to legendary proportions by my teamies and somehow I became known as a Genius.
