Sunday, April 12, 2009. Den's Tea Houji-Kukicha Revisited. I first tried Den's Houji-Kukicha about a year ago. And enjoyed it. Later. I tried Hibiki's Houji Karigane but didn't care for it as much. Now I am giving Den's another try and I sill prefer it. Its simplicity appeals to me. Add a heap of leave with some boiling water and lett it sit for a minute or two or three, whatever, and you have a cup of warm, roasted goodness. Nothing fancy but pleasurable. Links to this post. Another Tea Blog: September 2008

http://anotherteablog.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html

Sunday, September 28, 2008. A wuyi oolong varietal from Taiwan. It came from Floating Leaves Tea. And was a sample given to me by a kind person who continues to expand my oolong horizons. The leaves are a dark, rich green with the occasional stem. It smells like berries. I stuffed my little pot and used short infusions. It tastes like peaches and apricots with a friendly astringency, sweet after taste, and medium mouthfeel. Similar to this dan cong. Links to this post. Saturday, September 20, 2008. Matt,...

Another Tea Blog: March 2009

http://anotherteablog.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Saturday, March 14, 2009. Hello again. Did you miss me? Is one of the four new hong cha that Adagio added a few months back. They were all quite good, particularly for the price. I very much enjoyed the Yunnan Noir. In particular, but I drank it all. A proper review on that one will have to wait till I get some more. The Golden Spring has a typical aroma. The dry leaves smell of honey and grain, while notes of its Fujian heritage come out in the medium brown liquor with a subtle golden hue. Hopefully thi...

Another Tea Blog: Tea Avatars

http://anotherteablog.blogspot.com/2007/03/tea-avatars.html

Thursday, January 2, 2003. Ukiyo e, "Pictures of the Floating World," was a style of paintings produced in Japan during the Edo period (1603-1868). The Floating World refers to the theater, sumo, and pleasure quarters, and their corresponding culture in Edo (Tokyo), Kyoto and Osaka. I saw an Ukiyo e exhibit last year and fell in love with the art, though pictures in a book are nothing like the real thing. Very cool, Alex! February 3, 2008 at 9:45 AM. OThank you so much! Thursday, January 2, 2003. Vendors marked with *. Done business with them and I was satisfied or pleased with the transaction. Vendors marked with :(. Indicate that The Republic of Tea are a bunch of fucktards and I don't think anyone should give them money. Dragon Water Tea Co. In Pursuit of Tea. New Mexico Tea Co. Original Ceylon Tea Co. Red Blossom Tea Co. Simpson and Vail Inc. Two Leaves and a Bud. I think their bottled teas are the best too. February 24, 2008 at 1:45 PM. Thank you, I over looked them.

Another Tea Blog: August 2008

http://anotherteablog.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html

Wednesday, August 13, 2008. Teance "Monkey Picked" Tai Guan Yin Medium Roast. First things first, "monkey picked." Tea vendors will use this phrase to indicate that the particular tea is high quality, and perhaps also as in attempt to add a little exotic appeal to the product. This phrase should instill in you the same warm fuzzies I get from McDonald's "Premium" Coffee. It's a bygone phrase ('cause seriously, have you seen what monkey's do with their hands all day? Them picking you tea? The first time I...

Tea Sites & Blogs. Archive for November, 2007. What a Spankin’ Good Idea! My friend Ido, who runs the blog Divine Tastes. Recently brought a great website to my attention. It’s called FreeRice.com. And it has one of the most novel and noble concepts around. You simply answer vocabulary questions. For each one you get right, you ‘earn’ 10 grains of rice. The rice you earn is then used to feed the world’s hungry. November 18, 2007 at 1:24 pm. Updates and New Toys! November 1, 2007 at 7:04 pm. Subjective ra...

Tea Nerd: January 2010

http://www.teanerd.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Monday, January 11, 2010. Aged Oolong from Imperial Tea Court. Origin: Fujian, China. Vendor: Imperial Tea Court. Price: $6.00 (28g) / $21.25 (113g). This is not a bad tea. (What, expecting something more profound after a month and a half? The truth is, my taste buds are a wee bit rusty after such a long break from routine tea consumption, so I won't be waxing poetic 'bout none-a-those etherial hints of ambrosia this time. Modest price I can't complain. It also seems to give an above-average cha qi.

Tea Nerd: February 2011

http://www.teanerd.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Thursday, February 17, 2011. Shan Lin Xi (Light Roast), from the Tea Gallery. Origin: Nantou, Taiwan. Vendor: The Tea Gallery. Price: $35.00 (25g each of light and medium roast). There is a lingering, subtle, sweet aftertaste. The cha qi feels sedating but is thankfully not too heady, so there is no headache and only a bit of tea-drunkenness. Thursday, February 17, 2011. Leaving my life in Adelaide behind to embark on a new career, I felt this was the perfect place to share my thoughts and experiences with the World and maybe bring to light some of the issues I deal with as I work through my first year in a new profession. Real, and irrational. Never stop looking for ways to be a better teacher. Wednesday, July 30, 2014. I Need An Action Plan! I've bumped into this image twice today, here. Both by teachers recapping their experiences at TMC14. I don't know, but it made something click in my head. But I can't make a plan for the 100 things I want to change. Not gonna happen.
