Adventures in Postdoctoral Sewing. Saturday, March 30, 2013. Easter Dresses - Penultimate Post! When I post the next picture, they will be done and modeled! Last night I assembled the back and front skirt panels before bed. This morning I stitched the side seams, gathered and attached the skirts to the bodices. I am pretty happy with my gathers this time, but does anyone who sews not. I took a better picture- with my camera instead of my iPod- to celebrate my progress:. Ready for Easter after all! Yester...

Here on Misfit Quilter Island we love having fun! If it's not fun, it's work. So take a look around and be sure to check out our flickr group too. Wednesday, January 1, 2014. January 2014 BOM block. I'm so excited to be having our first block of the month. I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year's celebration! I had started out with doing a 12.5" and 6.5" unfinished blocks, but my quilt math was off on my 6.5" block, so I'm changing it to only being a 12.5" block. All seams will be 1/4 inch. 2) 35" x 5".

My crafty, foody world. A project waiting there…? April 18, 2011 by sewcarmendoes. I hope you all had a lovely weekend…mine was great! So much sewing…too much maybe…my back is complaining a bit! Although that doesn’t really have anything to do with the sewing but the position I put myself in when I iron! No wonder I hate that part so much. For a ‘quilt as you go’ tutorial and definitely have a look at filminthefridge. For the loveliest strip quilts ever! I can’t wait! April 16, 2011 by sewcarmendoes.

Welcome to Handmade with Love!: Home

Sunday, November 6, 2011. So many different images float through my head when I say this word. The ranch in the valley where I learned to ride my bike, ride a horse, shoot a gun. The house on the hill where I found arrow heads and jack rabbits. The apartment in the college town where I started to figure life out. The house I shared with four phenomenal women. The mountain top in Montana where I felt free and alive. The beach where I can feel my soul pulsating with the waves. Ft Bragg, CA 2011.

The inaugural post is here. Explaining the concept, which is to sew things that are inspired by your favorite books, which for the most part, happen to be children's picture books. Since I love children's literature, perhaps more than I love sewing, I think this concept is amazing! Which is rendered here. Harry Potte...
