A Stitching Time: November 2008

http://astitchingtime.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html

Living my life, one stitch at a time. Sunday, November 30, 2008. Buying a new one seemed too cheap. As if we do not value our faith to put ourselves into it, but rather satisfy ourselves with mere possessions of our Gods' idols. So, I thought that the only appropriate thing to do would be to make a new image. After we baked the face, I made the body and the wings. I decided to portray. I chose the acrylic paint colors for her: orange for the dress, tan for the body (I mixed ochre. With orange to get it),...

A Stitching Time: January 2009

http://astitchingtime.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html

Living my life, one stitch at a time. Tuesday, January 20, 2009. I received my first rejection letter, which means, as my husband Joe said, that I am officially a writer. The letter came via e-mail from The Writer's Eye, and, as rejection letters go, I suppose it was fairly gentle. It merely informed me that "unfortunately, we have decided not to publish" my short story and expressed hope that I would submit to them in the future. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A Stitching Time: One More Christmas Finish...

http://astitchingtime.blogspot.com/2014/12/one-more-christmas-finish.html

Living my life, one stitch at a time. Tuesday, December 23, 2014. One More Christmas Finish. I am so proud of myself - not only did I manage to finish this year's ornament before Christmas, but - there are two of them! In addition to the Woodland Dreams (seen here. And in honor of the Year of the Sheep (according to Chinese Zodiac), I made this. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, my dear friends! May the coming year be filled with - Hope! And may this hope become reality. Labels: Christmas Tree ornament.

A Stitching Time: April 2008

http://astitchingtime.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html

Living my life, one stitch at a time. Wednesday, April 23, 2008. Two thousand dollars a class - wow! I asked Financial Aid office for help - their answer is "Take out loans." Right. . I started a new job - actually, restarted the old one I used to have at a local college, working at the Computer Lab as an "Tech Assistant." Part-time, 20 hours a week. Not much, but it's something. It has its perks - access to the computers, flexible schedule, studying Microsoft Office programs. . See you all later . Profe...

A Stitching Time: June 2008

http://astitchingtime.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html

Living my life, one stitch at a time. Wednesday, June 18, 2008. It's the end of the school year! As much as my children are excited, no one can be more happy about the end of school than myself. No more getting up at the crack of dawn. No more worries about last-minute permission slip signatures, lost shoes, missing notebooks. No more arguments about homework. until next August. What are my plans for the summer? Have a good summer, everybody - especially everybody who reads my posts! Links to this post.

A Stitching Love Affair

A Stitching Love Affair. Thursday, December 29, 2016. The WIP and UFO List. Well since I had some time on my hands today, I got out all my WIPs and UFOs to have a look at and cringe about how many I have. Basically here is the list:. I really like her designs but I really don't like the huge amounts of backstitching and blended threads, in saying that I have 2 of her designs on the go. This is my oldest WIP (probably now a UFO) Started around 17-18 years ago. By Lavender and Lace. New start on 28/12/2016.

A Stitching Stone

Friday, July 6, 2012. Ok, I am back and hopefully with more consistency than the last two months. The beginning of the summer season is always hard because of the switch to being outside more and somehow an infinite amount of energy for my girls. I have been doing a little sewing but mostly birthday gifts for little girls and babies to come. Come back on Monday for a pattern review for a darling little pleated top that can also be a dress. Friday, May 18, 2012. I also learned my lesson about drying flann...

a stitch in lime | stumbling into creativity

A stitch in lime. September 19, 2014. Squishy sensory bags for the mess-phobic. Here are some I made yesterday. A sparkly ocean-esque one. This one is filled with blue hair gel (get that at the dollar store so as to not waste any money on quality — it ain’t for your hair), some extra blue food colouring to jazz up the colour, a packet of blue sequins, a small packet of tiny pearl beads, and some blue/silver glitter. For each of the bags, I followed these steps:. Press all the air out and seal zipper tight.
