Tuesday, October 21, 2014. Moab Rocks Stage Race. Last year the Moab Rocks Stage Race. Was on my radar for what was supposed to conclude an epic 2013 of mountain bike racing. With my axillary recurrence, and subsequent do-over of cancer treatment, it did not happen. In fact, the day that I was supposed to be traveling down to Moab for the race I was three weeks out from finishing chemo and getting my 'dry-run' (which means practice session) for radiation. Note: my mantra was borrowed from a good friend:).

Saturday, March 14, 2015. Racing is hard. Not racing is harder. Last weekend I headed to the Desert for the first ICUP cross-country race of the year. The season is still young, and this was a tuner for this weekend's 50-miler True Grit Epic. The tuner went great! Saturday, February 1, 2014. This morning, I participated in the Park Run for the first time. As you can see, it was a beautiful morning but Brockwell was rather flooded. Where you see puddle, there should be tarmac. A little over two years ago I did my one and only run with Dulwich Runners. The next day I was diagnosed with aggressive, stage 4 breast cancer. I was really nervous/apprehensive for him though. I hoped that he and his shoulder would feel good and that he wouldn't be frustrated with either. Jen Hanks' Story: Athlete's account of redefining "normal" after undergoing breast cancer treatment. Wednesday, November 22, 2017. On October 3, I underwent a left mastectomy. My surgery was scheduled in Las Vegas. My husband recently has taken a job in Las Vegas and a breast and plastic surgeon team he works with came highly recommended. So Dizzy dog and I traveled from Park City to Las Vegas and checked into an Airbnb that would serve as our home base as I recovered from surgery. Me and my pet drains.
