Wednesday, June 8, 2011. Adventures with Kidney Stones. Or "Tales from the ER! So by the title of this post your first thought is, okay, since she has stopped tutoring she has REALLY lost her vision for the purpose of this blog. But stick with me, I have a purpose. So I tried to understand the pain and be supportive while with Tom in the ER. I really dislike hospitals. The smells, the sounds, the sick and sad people every where. And then there is the staff. Tom after brain surgery in 2005. She looked at ...

Thursday, September 15, 2011. No really, want to know what I have been up to lately? 1 Husband in hospital: Yep, for four days. He was only having testing done, but it was four days I was without another adult person around the house. My only companions at home were small children, until bed time, then I would watch really bad television and wish I had some one to talk to. Waah! 2 Kids started school: YAY! 3 ME starting school: Go me! My friend at My Life With Pie. 6 I have been watching a few shows in N...

Favorites of the Moment. Wednesday, December 7, 2011. Follow-up: Brad and Angelina, Shrek and Fiona. One thing I want to start doing on the blog is following up on earlier pieces when the same or related issues come up later, as is often the case. For example, you may recall my piece on why marriage matters to kids, " If It's Good Enough for Brad and Angelina. I discussed the famous couple's initial commitment not. My Life with Pie: The Black Hole

http://www.mylifewithpie.com/2014/07/the-black-hole.html

Favorites of the Moment. Tuesday, July 29, 2014. I am underwater. Or maybe in a tunnel. I know there is light above, somewhere, and I want to reach for it, to embrace it, but something holds me back. I'm groggy. I feel heavy. Pulling myself up seems like a Herculean task. And yet, I cannot fail to do these things. Can I? She does not care about any of that. Of course, like any other human being, I've been sad before. I've cried over disappointments, losses, sad situations, the troubles of friends and...

My Life with Pie: Untethered

http://www.mylifewithpie.com/2014/07/untethered.html

Favorites of the Moment. Friday, July 25, 2014. Ironically, my last post. Was about Anna’s taking many pictures of me due to her fear that I would die and that she wouldn’t be able to cope with it. As I wrote that post, I could not have even imagined that, just over a month later, I would be the one losing a parent. That people can hold onto that provides even just a little. Sadly, that was the case with my dad. Dad and me, June 8, 2014. He died on June 24, 2014. Less than a month after his diagnosis.

My Life with Pie: Tattoos: They're Not Just for Sailors and Convicts Anymore

Favorites of the Moment. Thursday, August 16, 2012. Tattoos: They're Not Just for Sailors and Convicts Anymore. Tattoo. Just the word may conjure up all sorts of images in people's minds. In the past, many people for some reason associated tattoos with sailors or prison inmates or gang members. However, the art of tattoo is becoming more and more mainstream with time. Now, it could be that your doctors, your kids' teachers, and heck, even your lawyers (cough cough) have tattoos. On my birthday the follow...

My Life with Pie: The Adventure Begins

http://www.mylifewithpie.com/2011/06/adventure-begins.html

Favorites of the Moment. Thursday, June 2, 2011. Becoming a parent is rather like skydiving: once you take the plunge, there’s no turning back. Not that I would know about the skydiving because there’s no way in hell I’d ever do that! But, I can appreciate the similarity, the embarking on an adventure that is simultaneously terrifying and thrilling. And once you do that, nothing is ever the same – in a remarkable, amazing way. The woman is in labor, just wake Heidi and be done with it. Even the idea.

My Life with Pie: Worrywart!

http://www.mylifewithpie.com/2011/08/worrywart.html

Favorites of the Moment. Tuesday, August 2, 2011. There are no worries like those that you have about your child. Now, I’ve always had a predisposition for anxiety. I’m not just anxious about big things, but I’m also overly concerned about stupid little things. I am also restless and tense and wander around the house puttering when I can. Funny Faces, July 2011. But there’s no magic pill than can get rid of your worries about your child. When I dated people (the ones they knew about, anyway)? Holding a n...

Becoming a Bordelaise

Saturday, June 23, 2012. I'm going to write about all the stuff that's being on with school. We've been a part of some pretty snazzy projects throughout the year which are all coming to an end. You can expect to read about street parties, boxing to soul music (commonly known at Carle Vernet as 'boxe and soul'), 4 year olds dutty wining, country dancing like a rabbit and the usual walks past prostitutes on any daytime school outing. Everyone loves a conga. Celia and I enjoying the Carle Vernet vibes.

Almost boring in Avery's opinion. Way to go girl! Unfortunately, the lack of attention towards Sawyer has been a bit rough for him. But we might only have one kid in diapers after this! I don't even remember what that's like, but I think I'll get used to it mighty fast! Wednesday, March 5, 2014. And oh how I love sleep.

Becoming a Bringle

Wednesday, February 9, 2011. Today is a Great Day! As most of you know, I am trying to lose weight before the "BIG DAY" on May 28th! I have been noticing suttle changes as the now 22 lbs. have began to fade away. My pants fit looser, shirts not as tight, and there is the proof in the scale. However, until today, I have not really felt like I accomplished much. The result was two dresses. 65279;. This is the dress that I wore to my friend, Michelle Burniston's Wedding. Size 6! Here in San Francisco. Goodbye, Treo. Hello, leapfrog adopter. January 19, 2012. In June 2004 I acquired the Palm Treo 600, which I’m still using 7.5 years later. The Treo is an early smartphone. That combined the features of a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant). Lead, mercury, brominated flame-retardants, heavy metals like cadmium, beryllium, hexavalent chromium, arsenic, and PVC plastic).
