Monday, May 18, 2015. Riley's birthday was Sunday - he turned 9! I hope to have new photo or video shortly, but I never tire of his baby pix. I don't post much about Riley lately, but he is doing great. Showing is not in the immediate future, for numerous reasons that have nothing to do with my horse life - suffice to say that it's been a tough year in a lot of ways. Ready to show if I could? Wednesday, May 20, 2015. Horze squishy dressage whip - in brown! This is my new Horze Ashton dressage whip. Shown here in brown, but available in black, red, and blue too. At $12.95 it's hard to complain about the price! I think they should call it the squish whip because the handle is a wonderful, spongey hand grip that is probably a gel-substance. It was one year ago this weekend that Taco got injured, at the Indiana Training Three Day. Here are my posts from June of last year. That describe Taco's awesome performance and then our discovery of his SDFT injury. The leg has stayed cool and tight (knock wood). I am feeling very optimistic. We went to Pine Top for the famous Thanksgiving Horse Trials. The weather was perfect all weekend and Carol, the dogs, Doc, and I enjoyed the beautiful venue. Doc tried very, very hard in dressage. We put in a steady test and got a 38. And he was super fun cross country! Here is some footage from our really fun jump lesson.

I moved to NRW, Germany in 2007 and married a wonderful German man who understands my love of horses and fulfilled my dream of living the last 2/3 of my life in the country, with my horse in my backyard. Wednesday, May 13, 2015. Mara refuses to calm down. I actually told her, "You can ride her then" but I don't think she's willing to do that. Well now I know she's still not able to calm down up there. Several times it worked.
