Sunday, February 19, 2012. Lately- as of Feb. 20, 2012. Joy is saying all sorts of words and motions:. Bu Yao" (I don't want) is her favorite. Xie zi" (shoes) is her next. More" (with sign language motion). Yige" (one) she is always trying to convince me to give her just "one more". Ji" (chicken)- in the outside market behind us, there are a lot of live chickens- if you want a chicken to eat- they kill it, pluck it, and give it to you. Ge ge" and "mei mei" and "di di" (big brother, sister, little brother).

Friday, February 24, 2012. It's so fun being a girl! So today I couldn't resist the urge to paint her fingernails. It was one of the most difficult things I have ever done.haha! After a lot of struggle to get her to hold still, this is the end product. More paint got on her skin than on her nails and so I had to clean it up a bit. Thursday, August 9, 2012. Bath time and L.A. Before we left for L.A. Brooklyn had her first bath in the tub instead of the baby bath. She absolutely loved the rubber ducky. What a darling! She is such a happy girl and just brightens my day! A few days after arriving in L.A. Bismarck's friend Ryan and his family invited us to go kayaking at Balboa Beach. It is such a quaint, adorable place. I kept thinking it would be such a fun place to go for a honeymoon or anniversary! Perhaps one day we will do that.

Thursday, March 29, 2012. Too tired to stay awake! Today after dinner Bismarck was holding Brooklyn while working on the computer. We try to keep her awake after 6:00pm so that she will go down for bed easily. However, she was just too tired today. What a darling! Thursday, March 22, 2012. Yesterday we decided to start Brooklyn on rice cereal! She did a great job for the first time, although I think more got on her face than in her mouth. Thursday, March 1, 2012. Thursday, January 10, 2013. Here is a slideshow I put together of Brooklyn's first year. It didn't upload very well and so the quality doesn't look so great but you get the picture! On December 8th my baby girl turned 1! I can't put into words how much I love her! There are so many precious moments each day that make motherhood the most meaningful and precious gift Heavenly Father could give any woman! Saturday, June 30, 2012. Brooklyn met her only living great grand parent Grandma Beatrice. It was so wonderful to spend time with her. In Ghana people sell in the streets everywhere you go. I found it so interesting to see the kinds of things people would balance on their heads. It is a part of the culture that I adore. Friday, December 14, 2012. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Bismarck's Birthday. It has been forever since I posted. Better late than never though. Our ward had a fun party and Trunk or Treat! I have never gone to a Trunk or Treat before. Some people went all out decorating their trunks. Next year we will have to participate! I just loved watching Brooklyn walk around in her costume. She looked so funny with the padding. This apple kept her occupied and made her so happy while we sat and talked at the park!
