http://lifewildaroundus.blogspot.com/2016/02/rhizocarpon-geographicum-map-lichen.html
A daily look at what's living around us. Thursday, February 18, 2016. Rhizocarpon geographicum - Map Lichen. In the middle was a day of peace and an opportunity to walk upwards. We set our eyes on Ben Hope, the northernmost Munro and an easier walk than the lower, but more imposing, Ben Loyal. We returned to Tongue via Altnaharra on the longest single-track road segments devoid of passing places that I've ever been on. Quite what we'd have done had we encountered on-coming traffic I don't know. This one ...

organicbirder: Spotted Flycatchers at Oving & Church Norton
http://organicbirder.blogspot.com/2015/08/it-was-childcare-for-me-all-saturday.html
Monday, 17 August 2015. Spotted Flycatchers at Oving and Church Norton. It was childcare for me all Saturday but some diversion was provided by two Spotted Flycatchers. In the garden in Oving. I was called "jammy" for this.better not mention the two Pied Flycatchers. A shout from HR on Facebook and a zoom down to Climping on Saturday night got me Long-Eared. L in flight and Short-Eared Owl. And a rather baffled youth in a Saxo wondering what all the people were doing in the area. The deal's off pal!

At East Guldeford who Dad used to play football for back in the day). At Chainbridge, a few Stonechats. And a bright yellow Chiffchaff. It would appear ...

http://organicbirder.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, 28 February 2015. Was seen in a few different areas of Old Lodge on Friday which shows how mobile the Reed Bunting. Flock is that it is part of. May have caught up with it at 15:30 when I inadvertently spooked the flock into a Scots Pine by coughing but distance was a problem. Or more likely Reed Bunting. Looks to have good face pattern, crown stripe, pink legs, tiny bill and eye ring.but outer crown stripes too pale? Probably then, Reed Bunting. Thursday, 26 February 2015. And a few Goldeneye.

http://misidentifyingfungi.blogspot.com/2016/12/horton-wood-on-dry-december-day.html
I don't know much about Fungi. What I do know is, they're mostly pretty hard to identify to species. So this is me, trying. Saturday, 3 December 2016. Horton Wood on a dry December day. Outer surface, but forms a separate layer with a slightly smoother texture. It doesn't have much of a stem to speak of. To 8cm across; initially deep cup- or goldfish bowl-...
