Leonard Aitken has been painting for 30 years. He prefers to paint realistic and surrealistic works. The natural world around him is his first inspiration, but most of his work is transformed by a prodigious imagination. His paintings are usually built up in many layers of stains and glazes. Monika de Vries Gohlke. I am a professional artist, designer and botanical illustrator. I received my training at Parsons School of Design in New York, the Brooklyn Museum Art School, the Manhattan Graphic Center, New York University and the New York Botanical Garden. Among my clients in the world of fashion and home decorating are Williams Sonoma, Echo Scarves, Lands' End, Einstein Mooomjay and Polo Ralph Lauren. My paintings, drawings and prints have been exhibited both nationally and abroad.

Estelle DeRidder has worked as a staff artist at musea in South Africa, Turkey and the USA. Most recently she has concentrated on botanical illustration and earned a Certificate from the Denver Botanic Gardens School of Botanical Illustration, and a Diploma in Botanical Illustration from the Society of Botanical Artists, based in London, UK. A generous grant from the ASBA is allowing her to illustrate the flora of the Madrona Marsh, located in Torrance, CA, to be used as educational materials for all ages.

I don’t know what is going on with WordPress, but the html is messing up. I will contact them and see if we can get this resolved again. We met at Cedar Creek and worked with sighting our drawings for greater accuracy. We worked on finding the midpoint, plumb lines, and relative sizes. Wayne worked the same drawing through the entire class.

Gallipoli: your friend the enemy. Deirdre was commissioned by Australia Post in 2013 to paint the flowering shrubs of Christmas Island, a region where the plant life is unique because of its geographical location. In 2013 and 2014 Deirdre travelled to Gallipoli with a group of artists working on a project called 'Your Friend the Enemy'. Her paintings will be exhibited in Sydney and Canberra to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the Gallipoli landings on ANZAC Day. See Exhibitions.
