Long Dog Brewing Company

Tap #1 Tongue Splitter Pale Ale. Tap #2 Coffee Brown Ale. Tap #5 Strawberry Kiwi Soda. Tap #6 Grape Soda. Of recent brewing sessions. I made a stand. For my Phil Mill. It makes the milling process a bit easier. Some pretty pictures of the chest freezer I turned into a kegerator. It holds six 5 gallon kegs and is big enough to accommodate a 1/2 barrel if I wanted to buy one. I've written a description of my all grain brewing.

Phil Mill Stand

http://brewing.bump.us/philmill

This arrangement didn't provide as much clearance as I had hoped, so I ended up making some notches in the plywood for the drill chuck to turn in and for the adjustment screw to turn in. Finally, I attached a 2x4 to the top sticking out about 1/2 a foot from the edge for the handle of the drill to rest against. This will let me lock the drill in the on position so I can have my hands free to tend to the adjustment screw and keeping the hopper full. Right Side, notice the adjustment screw.

Extract Brewing Process

http://brewing.bump.us/extract

The process of brewing beer from malt extract is not terribly difficult and requires rather little in the way of equipment besides what one would normally have in a kitchen. When I am making a batch from extract I start with a kit from Northern Brewer. While the water in the pot heats, I put any bottles of malt syrup that came in the kit into the sink and fill the sink with hot water. Heating up the extract syrup makes it a lot easier to pour out into the pot later. When the water in the pot steams and t...

All Grain Brewing Process

http://brewing.bump.us/allgrain

All Grain Brewing Process. On the day I'm going to brew, I set aside about 5 hours for the brewing process and cleanup. I start by filling my 30 quart stock pot about 3/4 full with water and putting it on my propane burner. I'll use this water in a little bit for the mash. On his batch sparging webpage. While I'm waiting for the mash water to heat, I weigh out the grain for my recipe (usually about 10lbs of various different sorts of grain) and run it through my grain mill. Then I put the hose coming out...

Kegerator

http://brewing.bump.us/kegerator

The fact of the matter is, washing bottles isn't any fun. Filling them isn't a whole heck of a of fun either. The good news is that kegs are a lot of fun. The problem with kegs is that they're really big and that makes them difficult to fit into the refridgerator. Therefore we need to take extreme measures. The requirements that I have for whatever solution I come up with are:. Must be able to hold at least two 5 gallon kegs. Must be able to hold a standard 1/2 barrel keg (19" diameter). I apparently did...
