Jacob Lynch, you handsome devil. I finished painting up Jacob Lynch the other day. The highlighting turned out pretty cool on the skeleghost, and I’ve gotten a lot of praise on my base. I’m most proud of Lynch’s black suit, despite that it is the least dynamic part of the model. I managed to highlight in a way which makes the corners stand out without the suit being perceived as grey. That’s hard to do! Y home printer and then cut up I. My painting skill were that good. Only 118 more minis in the queue.

Huggy Goes Trick or Treating. I created this piece for Wyrd’s Rotten Harvest Contest. The concept for those you aren’t as familiar with Malifaux is that Hungering Darkness aka “Huggy” puts on a Jakob Lynch. His master) costume and goes Trick or Treating. I sketched an adorable outline on a post-it note with highlighters, and then set about creating the diorama version. Apparently decent painted Lord Chompy Bits is a contest winner too. Anyway, I still vainly enjoy my piece and I hope you do too.

I used colour modulation on the big panels and panel lighting to accentuate some details. Airbrush, compressor, other airbrush accessories (cleaners, etc). In this tutorial I will quickly show you how I painted the camouflage stripes. This method was pretty fast. It took me about thirty minutes or so to paint the camouflage on this model. I used silly putty for masking. This tutorial uses an airbrush for most of the camouflage painting steps. Vallejo Model Air (VMA) Burnt Umber (red-brown).
