Rust and the City: Tutorial: Dunkelgelb Colour Modulation for 15mm
http://rustandthecity.blogspot.com/2013/10/tutorial-dunkelgelb-colour-modulation.html
Wednesday, October 16, 2013. Tutorial: Dunkelgelb Colour Modulation for 15mm. This image from Model Brush nicely shows the differences between different hobby lighting styles. I used colour modulation on the big panels and panel lighting to accentuate some details. Airbrush, compressor, other airbrush accessories (cleaners, etc). Vallejo Model Air (VMA from now on) paints 025 Dunkelgelb/Dark Yellow, 028 Sand yellow, 075 Sand (Ivory). Vallejo Model Colour 819 Iraqui Sand (optional). A note on colours.

Rust and the City: Tutorial: 3 Colour disruptive camo with silly putty
http://rustandthecity.blogspot.com/2013/04/sillyputtycamo.html
Wednesday, April 10, 2013. Tutorial: 3 Colour disruptive camo with silly putty. Yesterday I posted pictures of a completed Jagdpanther. Painted in three colour camouflage. In this tutorial I will quickly show you how I painted the camouflage stripes. This method was pretty fast. It took me about thirty minutes or so to paint the camouflage on this model. I used silly putty for masking. This tutorial uses an airbrush for most of the camouflage painting steps. Vallejo Model Air (VMA) Burnt Umber (red-brown).

Rust and the City: Discussion: Flames of War terrain
http://rustandthecity.blogspot.com/2015/04/discussion-flames-of-war-terrain.html
Thursday, April 23, 2015. Discussion: Flames of War terrain. This is ENTIRELY an opinion piece. I am no Flames of War genius and am subject to my own biases. If you disagree I would love to hear from you in the comments section below. My current Normandy table. Here's a game against Sean on one of Glen's tables. This is a poor picture of my winter table set up. The layout of the terrain has been fairly balanced in game play. The village buildings are staggered to block lines of sight a bit. T...One way I...

Rust and the City: Tutorial: Airbrushing Imperial Fist power armour
http://rustandthecity.blogspot.com/2012/11/tutorial-airbrushing-imperial-fist.html
Monday, November 5, 2012. Tutorial: Airbrushing Imperial Fist power armour. In this tutorial I will show a brief step by step of how I painted the power armour on this Imperial Fist terminator. First up, the final effect achieved with this technique. I used a Badger Renegade Krome airbrush with a 0.2 mm nozzle for this model. Any airbrush will work, but to shade in this manner you really need fairly fine control. Citadel Averland Sunset (any golden yellow with good coverage would work). There is a fantas...
