Tuesday, October 01, 2013. New Books and New Grandbabies. OOo- - - - - - - -. Friday, October 12, 2012. It's raining in the Ozarks today. We need it soooo much. Do you use the term "in our neck of the woods"? What other terms, that are a little odd, do you use? Do you like to see things like that in a book? Does it comfort you, make the story feel more natural? When I go to writer's workshops, they continually say to avoid cliches, but some days I find them "homespun" and more realistic. But that's me.
