I have never, ever read anything like Lori E. Amys The Wars We Inherit: Military Life, Gender Violence, and Memory. Its a work you have to take as a whole, and at 189 pages, it should be taken as a whole. But there is one part I cant resist quoting, as the author remembers an experience she had while she was teaching school in 1991:.
