Wednesday, July 30, 2014. Review - Ginger Elizabeth Hot Chocolate. I'll be honest with you - I can't remember how I found out about Ginger Elizabeth Chocolates. They must have turned up in something I was reading online, or perhaps looking over a map of chocolate places here in California. However it happened, I'm glad I found them. Ginger Elizabeth Chocolates was started by Ginger Elizabeth Hahn. Traci, the manager there, gave me every bit of information I could have asked for! Back to the chocolate!

Monday, March 17, 2014. Recipe - Shamrock Peppermint Hot Chocolate. What do you know about St. Patrick? Did you know he lived in the 5th century. And was brought to Ireland as a slave when he was 16 years old? Did you know that it's believed a silver container was crafted. To hold St. Patrick's severed arm? When I was growing up, St. Patrick's Day pretty much meant McDonald's would start serving their Shamrock Shake. The ingredients are pretty simple:. 190; cup heavy whipping cream. 190; cup 2% milk.

Sunday, May 18, 2014. Review - Diane Krön Drinking Chocolate. Wandering in Beverly Hills with a friend of mine, we stumbled across a tiny chocolate shop tucked away in the corner of a retail building on Santa Monica Blvd. I had never heard of them before. The sign was a little mysterious - "K Chocolatier". I have since learned that K Chocolatier. Is owned by Diane Krön. I tried to do a little research and learn where their chocolate comes from - if it comes from a supplier, such as Varlhona. I made mine ...

Monday, July 6, 2015. Recipe - Malted Hot Chocolate. It's pretty obvious what we're going to make this time. That iconic package says it all - Whoppers hot chocolate! This is pretty much the drinkable equivalent of that classic candy. Since I was a kid. Well, I love almost all candy, so singling out Whoppers isn't anything special. I've also always loved malted milk shakes, although honestly, I never really noticed the "malted" part until I was much older. 1 1/4 cup 2% milk. 2 1/2 tbsp malt powder. Dark ...

Not overly crowded like Los Angeles, and they have a huge variety of trendy places to eat and shop - not to mention some amazing chocolate shops! We were walking the streets after visiting Cacao. Which will be the topic of a future post) and stumbled upon Moonstruck Chocolate Cafe.

Thursday, June 26, 2014. Recipe - Dick Taylor Craft Chocolates "Ecuador" Hot Chocolate. I've mentioned before that I'm very much a fan of artisan chocolate makers. Many artisan chocolate makers also create their own hot chocolates, and I've even reviewed a few already, like Chuao. Today we're going to make a hot chocolate using chocolate from an artisan chocolate maker who doesn't yet offer a drinking chocolate. Dick Taylor Craft Chocolates. Last fall, I attended my first Artisanal LA. The packaging they...
