Life on the Roads. The Trials and Tribulations, Failures and Successes of a runner. Monday, January 25, 2010. My New Best Friend. So, for the past several weeks, me and my treadmill have really gotten to be best friends. I think I've been outside twice. One time was a 12 mile run and the other was for the Octopus, an intense hill workout. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). My New Best Friend. View my complete profile. Springfield Road Runner's Club. Life on the Roads. The Trials and Tribulations, Failures and Successes of a runner. Wednesday, March 3, 2010. Build Up Going Smooth. I also run a little recovery run of 3-4 miles between my tempo and speed work days. With all that said, my weekly mileage is about right where I want it to be. I'm averaging anywhere from 32-40 miles per week. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Build Up Going Smooth. View my complete profile. Springfield Road Runner's Club. Cool Running Pace Calculator. Life on the Roads. The Trials and Tribulations, Failures and Successes of a runner. Thursday, May 28, 2009. The main set was a ladder. I honestly have no idea what I'm doing in the pool as far as sets but a plan never hurts (in theory). The ladder was a 50, 100, 150, 200, 150, 100, 50 with a 10-15 second rest interval. I followed up that set with a nice and easy 3 x 100 making sure I counted my strokes (SR) and keep them between 18-20. 800 x 400= Great workout. Following a mile cool down, I was off to th...

Thursday, January 22, 2009. R ticles of interest. As I was doing my regular run of newspapers at work these two pieces caught my eye:. 1 Mexico City trying to clean up. 2 Cutting down on cardboard boxes for moves. The plastic box article I thought was an interesting counter point of the greenification of the US. Besides, I know plenty of us that have moved quite a bit so I figured it couldn't hurt to pass along the link. Labels: and green boxes. January 23, 2009 at 1:28 PM. January 24, 2009 at 10:03 AM.

fobmoving: April 2009

Tuesday, April 28, 2009. Today I had a big first, that is, my first interview. As a scientist in a morning news radio show (sorry guys, the interview is in Spanish). Mediated by my brother-in-law, I was interviewed by Javier Solorzano, a well known Mexican journalist about the current flu outbreak in Mexico. Kind of funny how that works. Monday, December 15, 2008. Nothing says 'tis the season for giving like kidnapping an expert in kidnappings. Well, this is exactly what happened in my [not so]beloved home country recently as reported here. Article in Spanish). While on the topic, an exchange with my sister's boyfriend also yielded this news piece. Sorry, also in Spanish) about a drug lord that was busted recenlty and that during a gun fight tried to call for help from two police chiefs. Labels: Not an article in The Onion.

Monday, May 18, 2009. Mountain stream along NC 276. A mountain stream along scenic NC Highway 276, not far from Brevard. The image is best viewed on my FLICKR page, where you can see a larger version. As a final note, I'm realizing that my color balance looks very different on Steph's laptop versus my own. I hope that the images are appearing as intended when others view this site, but I can't be sure. Posted by Nate M. These all look dark on my work laptop. May 19, 2009 at 11:46 AM.
