Cooked and Bottled in Brunswick. A little journey to the end of the bottle. Sunday, July 27, 2014. Ruggabellus Barossa Valley Fluus 2013. My favourite South Oz producer I reckon. The Ruggabellus Barossa Valley Fluus 2013. Coriander | The Fussy Foodies

We love food… well, some of it. April 6, 2011 in Uncategorized. Whoa-oh, I like it. Are you likin’ it too? Gerry and The Pacemakers I Like It. Coriander. I love it, and so does Megan. Bet you didn’t expect that. Well, I didn’t use to like it much, and neither did a lot of people I knew. When I found out that there is most likely a genetic pre-disposition to not liking this green, leafy herb, I wanted to know more. But our tastebuds change as we age, particularly as a child, and many of us now enjoy foods...

My eggcellent adventure | The Fussy Foodies

https://thefussyfoodies.wordpress.com/2011/04/05/my-eggcellent-adventure

We love food… well, some of it. April 5, 2011 in Uncategorized. Hating eggs is something I am attempting to overcome. It is one of those things that people cannot comprehend someone not liking at all. Poached, fried, scrabbled, soldiers, soft boiled. just no. So I have commenced my endeavour to make eggs less nausea inducing and eggscrutiating. Lesson 1 – failure. Lesson 2 – somewhat of an accomplishment. I think i ate a chocolate brownie as a reward and to wash it down. Lesson 3 – failure. I was so over...

We love food… well, some of it. November 8, 2011 in Uncategorized. Megan: Having an intense dislike of potato and an indifference to rice provides me with a reasonable amount of restrictions. I personally don’t feel the need to assimilate my foods to replicate or replace other foods (vegetarian bacon? However I frequently cook for other people and if there is one way to make your guests think you are not only fussy, but pedantic, it is to replace one thing with another. I bring to you… cauliflower. I cut...

Curry – in not much of a hurry | The Fussy Foodies

https://thefussyfoodies.wordpress.com/2011/04/12/66

We love food… well, some of it. Curry – in not much of a hurry. April 12, 2011 in Uncategorized. I always get nervous about cooking something that someone likes, there is unexpected pressure to meet up expectations. My girlfriend’s mother has been cooking Malaysian food forever, she makes wonderful Malaysian food. As a result of its various influences, Malay Cuisine is broken down into various subsets like Malay-Chinese, Malay-Indian, Nyonya, Malay (which is more of an Indo/Thai influence). 1 x tbsp of v...

Marshmellows & Merlot: September 2010

http://marshmellowsandmerlot.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

Tuesday, September 21, 2010. Giuseppe, Arnaldo and Sons, Melbourne. Last Sunday, I enjoyed a quiet lunch with J at Giuseppe, Arnaldo and Sons prior to heading to the movies to see Tomorrow When the War Began. Reading a few other blogs and some reviews, it seemed that Giuseppe, Arnaldo and Sons was a really good traditional Italian restaurant. To begin with we decided on the mixed marinated olives served warm and the Burrata. Unspun cow's milk/cream mozzarella with hot focaccia and lemon. Just this week I...

Marshmellows & Merlot: August 2010

http://marshmellowsandmerlot.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Tuesday, August 10, 2010. Once again the year is flying by and I cannot believe that I have to start thinking about Christmas hampers already. For those of you who don't know, each year I spend most of my pre-Christmas December in A's kitchen making hampers for all my family and friends. It's painful and stressful - I actually cried one Christmas Eve two years ago purely because I hadn't finished and was up until all hours wrapping packets of biscuits and putting. Wednesday, August 4, 2010. It got me thi...

Marshmellows & Merlot: July 2010

http://marshmellowsandmerlot.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Thursday, July 22, 2010. Matsu Hashi, Clifton Hill. Well as promised, we had dinner at Matsu Hashi on Friday night and I have something to write about! Sushi has been a hard one for me to conquer. I wasn't a fan of thick sashimi slices, and the smell of the nori sheets made me feel quite ill. But it always looked so pretty and tasty and I am a bona fide lover of all seafood*, how could I not like sushi? So, I would continue to try it every now and then until I found something I liked. We started off with...

cooked & booked | my attempt at culinary excellence

My attempt at culinary excellence. When I was younger, my dad used to make zucchini bread. If you had asked a 7 year old me to eat a piece of zucchini, I probably would have made a face and said absolutely not. But, give that same 7 year old me a piece of zucchini bread and I would have eaten it. Fast forward a couple years to now (ok, more than just a couple) and present-day me. Zucchini, but still. Zucchini bread. When I saw this recipe for chocolate zucchini bread, there was no choice but to try it.
