Not spring | Pioneering on the home front

https://craftingahomestead.wordpress.com/2014/08/11/not-spring

Pioneering on the home front. Dreaming, working and planning towards self-sufficient living. Posted by Tracey Ambrose. August 11, 2014. The problem with August is that’s it’s not Spring, but it wants to be. It’s sunny most of the time and warm enough in the afternoon to sit outside and read a book, but you can still feel that nip in the air and by late afternoon you’re back inside, closing the house to the fresh air and getting the heat going again. So today, this week and the rest of August I plan:.

Pretty pretty spring | Pioneering on the home front

Pioneering on the home front. Dreaming, working and planning towards self-sufficient living. Posted by Tracey Ambrose. October 26, 2014. Not a hugely productive few months around here as far as the garden goes. We had some hold ups with building the raised beds and a holiday to Australia and the village open day all took their toll. We did, however, with the help of the gorgeous Nicole get one of the flower beds dug and planted out as well as a bunch of herbal tea plants planted in under the liquid amber.

End of a productive month | Pioneering on the home front

Pioneering on the home front. Dreaming, working and planning towards self-sufficient living. End of a productive month. Posted by Tracey Ambrose. August 26, 2014. Here’s Craig’s 3am inspiration:. It’s wonderful making this into a reality. Most of the work is going into the building of the 8 raised vegetable beds. What else has happened? Oh, we’ve been spoilt by Edouard, croissants and crepes, oh my! We had to make some repairs on the new pump but that should now be a little more resilient. We acciden...

August and the last of winter | Pioneering on the home front

Pioneering on the home front. Dreaming, working and planning towards self-sufficient living. August and the last of winter. Posted by Tracey Ambrose. August 6, 2014. This month, so far, has been my favorite I think (even though it’s less than a week in). It’s just been such a warm, sunny, productive, fun week. Not only did we start planning out the design for the main part of the garden on the platform:. Tree in, sun setting, lovely. Even Craig got in on the action (thanks Sven). DeliberateLife.com: The Pieces of Paper

http://finallylivingdeliberately.blogspot.com/2010/04/pieces-of-paper.html

There was an error in this gadget. The Pieces of Paper. Posted on : 1:09 PM By : Nic. In : alternative housing. A long while ago I posted about a job plan. What is surprising about this is that every single unemployed person is in science or engineering field, while the one employed person has a degree in English ( I forget what specific major). It may be significant that she is also working from home doing contract consulting, and has more work than she actually wants to do. So where is the real value?

There was an error in this gadget. Living in Tight Quarters. Posted on : 8:29 AM By : Nic. In : bus conversion. So how does a family of five live in this tiny space? Which brings me to another interesting aspect - power. We have one long extension cord running from the house all the way out to our bus and in through one of the windows (remember those school bus windows that are really difficult to open and close because you have to pinch the little gray tab-like buttons? There was an error in this gadget. A Brief History of Man and Rat. Posted on : 9:30 AM By : Nic. In : cool stuff. We thought we may have killed 'the rat'. What we have discovered is that this is not a few rats, but many rats, sending one rat into our bus every day to bring back whatever we have left in payment for their little rat mafia. Yesterday, I was sitting at the computer and Ana came into the front of the bus quite loudly and talking, and suddenly yelled out, "The RAT! One of the reasons there wer...

The skein of silk and the silk cap have been dyed over the last couple of days. I plan to split out the darker and lighter portions as I spin and spin them seperately. I have a plan for that, but more on that later. Links to this post. Monday, 13 June 2011. In some ways, this has been inspired by yarninmypocket of Yarnscape.

Tangled threads: P2P2: thinking...

http://tangleweave.blogspot.com/2011/06/p2p2-thinking.html

Saturday, 11 June 2011. I've been thinking a great deal about how to make a start on my P2P2 challenge during the week. There are two things at hand here for me: the colours of the images, as a set, and the general feel of texture, movement and flight that they suggest to me. For colour, I've pulled out various yarns in my stash that make me think of the images:. The other thing I've been thinking about is the fabric itself. I've worked a bit. Broken advancing twill threading with a 3/1-1/3 twill tie-up ...
