Cross-Train The Runner

Combining running, cycling, swimming and yoga for fun, fitness, and well-being. Namaste. Thursday, August 06, 2009. Is It Time to Try? OK we are now soon entering the fall season. Some running is in the mix but also a lot of cycling. Is it time to take the plunge and focus on triathlon or should one embarce the opportunity to participate in running events again in the fall, albeit relays and short distances? Mulling it over. It is tempting to put all this cycling fitness to use. Wednesday, August 05, 2009.

Cross-Train The Runner: Summer Vacation is Over

http://www.crosstraintherunner.blogspot.com/2009/08/summer-vacation-is-over.html

Combining running, cycling, swimming and yoga for fun, fitness, and well-being. Namaste. Sunday, August 02, 2009. Summer Vacation is Over. It's August, time for the annual Pub Crawl! I will actually write a blog entry after none in June and July. So what is happening? Facebook has stole my blogging time. Shame. Have resisted Twitter however. I am a baby boomer after all and we just migrated to Facebook recently. I spent the first half of July overseas. I have joined the HARRA Board as an At Large member.

Cross-Train The Runner: Sun, Sweet Potato Fries, and IPA

http://www.crosstraintherunner.blogspot.com/2009/05/sun-sweet-potato-fries-and-ipa.html

Combining running, cycling, swimming and yoga for fun, fitness, and well-being. Namaste. Thursday, May 28, 2009. Sun, Sweet Potato Fries, and IPA. It does not get any better than that does it? Now being the generous soul that I am, it is time to share best practices to my male buddies that may read this blog. You see, in order to do what a man wants to do, for example spend all weekend cycling and exhausted from cycling, a man needs a little bit of cooperation on the home front, eg the wife in my case.

Cross-Train The Runner: Happenings

http://www.crosstraintherunner.blogspot.com/2009/05/happenings.html

Combining running, cycling, swimming and yoga for fun, fitness, and well-being. Namaste. Sunday, May 24, 2009. The problem with not blogging that often is that one's thoughts are all a jumble from the variety of the past several weeks. So let's start with a list. Work - Going well, got new responsibilities and apparently I am pretty competent. Going to travel some more again. Clubs - BARC has put together a great leadership team for the coming year. I only need to continue to do the eBARCer. The ...Space...

Running Thoughts: May 2008

http://hvillerunner.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html

A journal of my running along with a little randomness. Saturday, May 31, 2008. End Of The Montgomery Co. Triple. Montgomery County Triple Finishers. I went back down to The Woodlands today for the David's Dream Run 5K, the last leg of the Montgomery County Triple.  It was not an event without it's share of weirdness.  It all started out normal.   Ken. And I pulled up at Market Street, and immediately ran into Sara. 160;Please forgive me! Wouldn't stop looking for John Cook. 160;Bad idea.  I hun...The ra...

Running Thoughts: Oh $%&#!!!

http://hvillerunner.blogspot.com/2009/06/oh.html

A journal of my running along with a little randomness. Sunday, June 7, 2009. So, this morning was the Tejas Triathlon in Sugar Land, and I competed in the relay with Team BA (which truly is BA, btw).  My new twitter friend, Shannon Henderson, did the swimming (600 yds), Cathlene Webb tackled the bike (11 miles), and I finished up with the running (3 miles).  . Despite the fact that we just put this team together all last minutelike, I was still super pumped about it! And flew out the door.  Onc...We qui...

http://hvillerunner.blogspot.com/2009/06/happy-nrd.html

A journal of my running along with a little randomness. Wednesday, June 3, 2009. I had no idea there was a national running day, but apparently it is celebrated today; june 3rd.  it was supposed to be a rest day for me; however, coach made exception, and ok-ed an easy 3 miler in commemoration of the day.  . 2) running has provided me great mental solace.  there's been lots of shstuff on my plate recently, and i've survived it like a champ! 3) running is so empowering! 4) i love runners! Running Thoughts: Hog's Hunt 25K

http://hvillerunner.blogspot.com/2009/05/hogs-hunt-25k.html

A journal of my running along with a little randomness. Monday, May 18, 2009. Well, so much for sitting Hog's Hunt out! 160;Nevermind the fact that I was completely unprepared to run a 25K.I just said 'what the hell' and did it anyway.  It actually started out really well.  I felt great all the way to about mile 11 or 12, and then the heat and lack of water started to kick my butt.  There was a 5 mile stretch between aid stations, and it was about 90 degrees outside! A journal of my running along with a little randomness. Friday, June 20, 2008. They all seem to be doing good except for the buck fawn.  It doesn't have the same spunk as the others.   Maybe the bucks are just more chill.who knows? 160;We're just learning here. This is the buck fawn.  Poor little guy! 160;All I've really been doing since it got hot is 3 miles in the morning, and then either swimming or riding my bike later in the day.  I'm a wuss.  No summer long runs for me. 160;Congrats, Ken! 160;I'm m...

http://hvillerunner.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html

A journal of my running along with a little randomness. Thursday, May 28, 2009. Following Orders (For the Most Part). I feel like my training is going really well! Last Saturday - ran 6 miles at a relaxed pace on trails here at home.  It was an ok run, but I was a bit hungover and blah from turnin' my swag on the night before. . Monday - Drank beer on a boat (was supposed to do 10 min wu, 4 x 8min (hard) followed by 2 min. jog recovery, 10 cd). Tuesday, May 19, 2009. HSP Kicked My Butt! 160;HSP trails ar...

Running Thoughts: April 2008

http://hvillerunner.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html

A journal of my running along with a little randomness. Wednesday, April 30, 2008. Well, I went to the pool yesterday for a swimming test drive.  Umm, apparently 'used to be a strong swimmer' doesn't translate into 'still a strong swimmer'.  I don't remember swimming being that danged hard! 160;So, FM 2989 is as far as I could go.  (around 25 miles round trip) Probably a good thing.  I forgot to fill my water bottle up before I left.  I was parched - almost drank out of a ditch. Thursday, January 21, 2010. Sunday, January 17, 2010. Friday, January 15, 2010. This week has been tough. I started off on Tuesday with an easy zone 1 run on the treadmill and my left shin hurt a lot getting started. I am really afraid I might have more than a shin splint, but I am avoiding the doctors office like the plague. I do not want bad news! Sunday, January 10, 2010. Base 1 Week 3. Here are the workouts I completed this week:. Tuesday Run: http:/ tpks.ws/xNqz. Tuesday Lift: http:/ tpks.ws/AOJI.

Welcome to CrossTrain Young Adults! Join us every other Sunday for an evening of fun and fellowship as we dig into God’s Word and study what it takes to be a follower of Christ. To train up godly men and women who will have a heart to serve and to equip them with the Word of God, that they may stand strong in their faith. 8220;For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.”.
