A CULINARY LINGUIST: November 2010

http://culinarylinguist.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

The DC. Posts. Tuesday, November 23, 2010. What to do with leftover eggwash? Whenever I made something breaded that requires an egg wash, I always end up either tossing the extra beaten egg immediately, or put it in the fridge but toss it later anyway because I forget it's there and it goes bad. Now, though, I know exactly what to do. The other day I was making breaded chicken cutlets to go with pasta for lunch, and it dawned on me:. All those times I squandered that extra egg. A CULINARY LINGUIST: December 2010

http://culinarylinguist.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

The DC. Posts. Friday, December 10, 2010. Here's an interesting coffee shop I came across in Edae a few weekends ago*:. What kind of coffee would an exorcist drink? Apparently teddy bears love it. Although note that 'exorcist' in the Korean context typically refers to someone like this. And doesn't necessarily evoke something like this. Thursday, December 9, 2010. Fried rice waiting with cheese blanket. Close-up on the masterpiece. Looks like some kind of sea creature.a horseshoe crab, perhaps? 6 Tablesp...

The DC. Posts. Tuesday, June 1, 2010. Before I left on vacation, I was in a bit of a cooking and food rut. A CULINARY LINGUIST: March 2011

http://culinarylinguist.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

The DC. Posts. Saturday, March 26, 2011. 43 Thailand #8: End of the World Chicken. I love eating at places like this! Nam prik noon and cabbage. I probably would have forgotten it was Christmas Day if it wasn't for the guys in Santa hats sitting at a nearby table. 43 Thailand #7: Sukiyaki. Think there's enough scallions? Points out in a recent post. And that's a segueway to my next travel post from our trip to Thailand (getting back to my 43 travel stories. A ordered it on our second night in Chiang Mai&...

October | 2010 | The Daily Mosaica

https://mosaica.wordpress.com/2010/10

All my news that’s fit to print. Archive for October, 2010. Oh, hey there! October 28, 2010. I have a few other current heroes: Fergus Henderson and his lovely colleagues at St. John are both inspiring and helpful when it comes to the tastiest oddbits of the pig and other beasties. One day soon I’ll write a post, replete with glorious pictures, of a roast half pig’s head based on his recipe. I may be coming into a whole slew (maybe a dozen) organic Tamworth pig’s heads, tails, feet, organs, and may...

All my news that’s fit to print. Bento Challenge: week 4 wrap-up. February 8, 2009. From my wrap-up post at the Bento Challenge forum:. I just noticed that I didn’t post my goals for week 4, but they were pretty much the same as previous weeks. One of this weeks favorite lunches. The Tibetan ratatouille was excellent, and kept well, so it figured in several meals this week. I’ll be posting the recipe soon, I promise. I’m curious to see how I do with bento lunches once spring truly arrives here; I t...
