How many miles have you ridden today? We are here or Key West at last. The post prandial (after meal for the non medicos) portion today was long, hot and punctuated (or should I say punctured) by a flat tire (my bike) on the next to last bridge before Key West. Repairs were done and we made it without further incident. We now have two full days to relax before contemplating the return journey. More posts and photos to follow. How many miles have you ridden today? Last night in Key West. Back in Key West in time for sunset but too many clouds to see a good show. Street performers however were not deterred. A light dinner and drinks at Sloppy Joe’s, a bar that was a favorite of Ernest Hemingway and back to the hotel for the ride back to Marathon and then Key Largo. Day of Relaxation? | Cycle Joe

How many miles have you ridden today? Not having to get on a bike we had a leisurely breakfast and took the hotel shuttle to downtown Key West. We wandered around seeing the sights seeing some rather interesting t-shirts, had lunch at a waterfront seafood joint and visited President Truman’s Little White House. How many miles have you ridden today? To Marathon (or Run a Marathon). First day is done. Couldn’t have asked for a better day. Temps in mid 80′s and a tail wind. Most of the route was bike path with short distances on paved highway shoulder. In one place we could see old highway bridge closed off and derelict but in another spot old bridge converted to as 2.5 mile overseas bike path. (See pictures.). Cycle Jordan Challenge

Friday, 15 October 2010. Over 70 miles, 4,000 calories, 2 counties, and about 30 banannas! On 3 October my training for the Jordan cycle was taken to a whole new level. I was joined by my comrade Chris Lindsay Smith in attempting to complete the Phil Cooke Challenge, a 70 mile cycle across the counties of Northamptonshire and Warwickshire all in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care. After a cup of tea, the obligatory 'after shot' on the camera and what seemed a long journey home the day was brought to an end.
