A Dear Jane day. Today is the day I started my Dear Jane journey! While I was supposed to be sewing something else I suddenly got to urge to start my Dear Jane quilt. I've created a separate page. With info about my Dear Jane and a virtual design wall to keep my blocks in order but thought that I'd do a post for the blocks as I go as well. I'm slowly making Rocky Mountain Puzzle blocks this year . The blocks are 8" finished and I'm planning to make 90 for a 72" x 80" quilt - I've done 7 so far so it will take a while, but I'm not in a hurry! Its my turn as Queen Bee for the Care circle of do.good stitches for May and also July and as we have a break in June I thought I'd get the blocks for both months done and out of the way! Quick charm pack quilts! Back in January this year I decided to tackle free motion machine quilting so I thought I'd buy some charm packs on sale and make up some practice quilts! My idea was that charm quilts would be quick and easy to make and wouldn't cost that much! I wasn't really thinking about the added cost of the batting, backing, and bindings! I purchased 5 lots of 3 charm packs and after searching for patterns for a while at the Moda Bake Shop. This pattern is called Honey Honey Layer cake.

Patio Quilt for my Daughter finished. Together we selected some fabrics for the Patio quiltpattern from happyzombie. I was so happy with the red/white/black fabrics… especially that some Tim Holtz fabrics were among it. For the backside I baught a fabric from the Bye Bye Birdy collection by Windham fabrics. I basted every single block. So I basted every block and quilted it with wavy lines using my walking foot – a pattern I meanwhile love… it is so easy to do but is so nice. Wavy lines on the back side.
