surprising sweetness: March 2014
http://surprisingsweetness.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 30, 2014. How could I not have blogged the good news yet? COOPER IS STAYING AT SIBLEY! We requested a mediation with our school district (a special meeting where a mediator from outside the district is brought in to help us all come to an agreement). Our only dispute was on placement, as we have always felt our team has done a great job on inclusion and goals and services for Cooper. We are so incredibly relieved. Thank you for supporting us through all of this! Tuesday, March 4, 2014.

Friday, September 5, 2014. We may have lost our minds. In a fit of "we will promise you anything to get you to eat and drink and get out of this hospital" we told Coop we were getting a dog. Been researching dogs and dreaming of getting one for quite a while. Well, I had been anyways. Dragging Dave grudgingly along with me. ;). His first official mug shot. Isn't he cute? One meet-n-greet, a house visit, and he was ours. These rescue places aren't messing around! September 6, 2014 at 8:18 AM. There are be...

surprising sweetness: April 2013

Tuesday, April 30, 2013. In our 6 years of Cooper, we have met quite our share of doctors, nurses, and specialists. Some good, some.ummmm. not so good. But those good ones. You hoard them like jelly beans at Easter. You stalk them and learn what days they work. You ask (or demand, whatever) for them as soon as you check in. You wish you could do more to show them just how much they are appreciated in this sometimes scary medical scene. Jesse is our good one. This one is a keeper. We will miss you Jesse!

Wednesday, November 13, 2013. Sometimes life hits you square in the chest. Takes your breath away and leaves you reeling. And you wonder how you will ever draw a breath without it hurting again. Our friend Jodi passed away on Monday. Stage 4 colon cancer at 38 years old. I can't even wrap my mind around it yet. It is so surreal to lose a friend our age, with a child just a year younger than our Liam. I miss her already. And so when she posted this:. Http:/ www.caringbridge.org/visit/joleenkrueger. And tr...

Tuesday, September 16, 2014. Take me out to the ball game. or not. Last night we went to our first baseball game as a family. It was the first time the boys had been, and only the second time for Grace. They were SO excited. So we told Coop he had to take one for the team and went for it. (And loaded him up on Tylenol and Ibuprofen to hedge our bets.). Thankfully our friend offered their kid-sized noise canceling headphones (as well as all their Twins gear! But there were moments of fun in the middle of ...

surprising sweetness: October 2014

Wednesday, October 15, 2014. Last night we took the boys to their first concert. I made the mistake of telling them about it when we purchased the tickets. A month ago. And Cooper has asked Every. Single. Morning. if it was the big day. Needless to say, he was a bit excited. I told him we had to wait for the tickets to arrive in the mail before we could go. I actually had to just print out the Groupon, but he was satisfied with checking the mailbox everyday. :). I used my awful art skills to draw up this:.
